I got White Sox to win the NL central at +650 at MB at the beginning of the year. I haven't followed baseball as closely this year and was wondering what people think I should do with this?

I am probably atleast going to play it out until early September so that Minnesota is not in the picture anymore and doesn't factor into my hedging. From what I can tell, Chicago clearly has the better lineup between the two, although the Tigers have a slightly better rotation because of the Jackson/Verlander 1-2 punch. I am maybe thinking of hedging by betting Detroit -160 or so but I really do think Chicago has a better team and want to play it out. Schedule's seem pretty even the rest of the way..

also, for anyone who says hedging is a -EV bet, on Matchbook the lines are supertight so the -EV bet theory doesnt really matter...

Tough to win the NL Central, when you play in the American League.

Just kidding around, good luck.

Chicago looks like they started hitting this weekend. I would roll with the punches and take the shot.

I would hold on to this. They should outlast the Tigers. Both teams are flawed, but the Sox have made some very nice moves.

Yeah I'll probably hold it for a little while longer. I agree both teams are flawed, White Sox should be better but they always seem to blow games like they did today...

Agreed they may win it and if they do use half of it to fade them in the 1st round of the playoffs

Tough to fade them vs NYY in rd 1. Probably would be laying like -190ish which is a ton for a 5 game series.

Peavy seems screwed, tough to see him contributing this year. Atleast Washburn has struggled away from Safeco..

Although I like the White Sox lineup A LOT more than the Tigers...

Yes, I hate the Sox, but like money. If the Sox can survive the big roadtrip to NY, Boston, and Minny, I really like their chances. Peavy had a setback so they may not get anything from him. IF Contreras steps up like the last game, I love their chances.

The sox will have a tough stretch coming up with 20games in the next 20 days, which includes an 11 game road trip and they will have to play pretty tough competition with 4 games @BOS, 3 games each @NYY and MIN and the final road game against the Cubs before playing 4 more at home against the Red Sox.
I just can't picture them playing .500 or better during that stretch and gaining any ground on DET within the next 3 weeks. After that another road trip with 3 games at LA is coming up, so looking at the schedules, I would probably try to hedge some of my money.
