YTD: 9-8
MINNESOTA TWINS +123
The Texas Rangers have been playing great ball recently, and are currently tied with Boston for the AL-Wild card lead. That is probably why they are favored so heavily in this game. The Twins have underachieved all season, and if it wasn't for the way Scott Baker has pitched recently, they could be further in the hole than they already are. Baker has won his last 4 decisions, bringing his ERA down from 5.42 to 4.54 over the last month. His WHIP for the season is an exceptional 1.14, which tells me he does not walk a lot. The Rangers have a powerful offense, but no one has a batting average that jumps out at you. This type of matchup usually favors the control-pitcher, and Baker has fared well against Texas in the past. In his most recent start against them last month, Baker pitched 8 solid innings, giving up one run and striking out 8 in a 4-1 win at Texas. Kevin Millwood is on the mound for Texas, and he is 0-6 with a 6.00 ERA in 10 career starts vs. the Twins! Joe Mauer hits .360 off Millwood (9 for 25), and Morneau hits .375 (6 for 16) with 3 HR's and 10 RBI's. Minnesota has not been playing their best ball lately, but they usually come to play against Texas, and I look for them to continue that tonight! Great value for this one tonight! BOL to all!!
