The Angels are beginning to become a cliche pick for me, but if they keep cashing, then why not? I think tonight's matchup presents more advantages for them. They are going for the sweep of the Indians tonight with their ace John Lackey on the hill. He has been on fire lately, winning 5 of his last 6 decisions. He has pitched 7 or more innings in 6 of his last 7 starts. The only team he has lost to in the past two months is Texas (twice). He shut down Cleveland about 3 weeks ago in a 9-3 Angels win. The Angels as a team have been tearing the cover off the ball. They are the top-ranked scoring offense in the majors, with 7 of their 9 starters hitting over .300 (Napoli and Kendrick are just below). They are well-coached, and have been the epitome of consistency since the All-Star Break. The Indians send Justin Masterson to the mound who is making his 3rd start for Cleveland after working most of the year in the Red Sox bullpen. Bottom line, Masterson doesn't have starter-stamina right now. He hasn't gone past 4 innings pitched in either start for the Tribe. He was absolutely destroyed in his last start by the Twins (3 1/3 innings, 6 ER, 5 BB, L 11-0). The Indians bullpen has been a bit better recently, but they are definitely going to have their work cut out for them tonight. If the Indians come out with hot bats, they have a chance, but after getting shut out last night by a struggling Jered Weaver, I don't see that happening. I'm riding the Angels' train once again tonight. As always, BOL to all!
