Has anyone with sleeping problems tried Alteril?

I've tried it a few times, and my first impression is that it works pretty well. It seemed like a gimicky product, but I thought I would give it a try. I tried Sleep MD, and that was no help. Of course Tylenol PM and Benadryl work pretty well to get to sleep, but they are a drug, and leave you with a bit of a sleepy hangover.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone's tried it. I know that a lot of people have trouble sleeping. This product might be the answer.

I Use A Prescribed Med Called Temazipan

It's pretty mild, I get to sleep, but staying asleep is the problem. Of course ALL us old bastards have this difficulty! I've heard of the one you're talking about. Haven't there been some probs w/it? I may ask for something stronger. This happens every yr, I wait 7 mos. for CFB, and on the 1st Sat. morn about 1100 I can't keep my eyes open.:think2:

Alteril is not a drug. It's like melatonin and two other natural herbal supplements, I can't remember the names of the other two. I saw a commercial on it. It was cheesy and kind of reminded me of an Extenze commercial. But I saw it at Wal-mart right below the Tylenol PM and bought it. I wasn't expecting it to work, but it has worked pretty well for me so far. It kind of eases you to sleep, and you don't feel drugged like you do with Tylenol PM.

My brother takes Ambien. It's a hard-core prescription drug. It works like a charm, but you can only take it for so long before they cut you off. I don't want to get started on that.

I would say try Alteril. I'm interested to see if it works for anyone else.

There is also something called Clonazepam, also very mild.

Can we get a list going of all the sleep meds? I remember there being another thread on this and some posters were raving about a certain one.

Get some caffeine or ephedrine tablets.

Meanwhile, they'll go ahead and play the games whether you're awake or not....heh

You can take a nap and then check your Scores

This drug is highly abused....People sell it on the black market, because of its potency. It's prescribed often to mentally ill adults that have sleeping issues

Because of back pain, I have to go into "training" this wk to get it ready for KO. BTW Illini, Ambien was the one I was thinking of. I'm wide awake @ 0300 and dead tired @ 1500. This is the pits.

Buy a ZMA supplement and take about 30 minutes before bed, you will sleep like a champ and wake up feeling rested and fresh (while also enjoying the added benefit of some pretty wild and lucid dreams). I prefer the Beverly International line.

Illni:

Try some nice workouts before going to bed. Brisk walk/jog to get the blood pumpin.

That helps me a lot.

That's one problem I never had, falling and staying asleep. You could set a bomb off next to me and I'd sleep through it.

Working out helps you go to sleep? Just the opposite for me, and everything I've read says to avoid workouts for at least 3 hours before bed.

What is ZMA? I have noticed that I've dreamed a lot the past week while using Alteril. I usually don't remember my dreams, but I think I've remembered my dreams every night while on it.

. Zma is a zinc and magnesium supplement. It does help with sleep, but I was never able to take a normal shit while using it so that's something that worries me.
