LOS ANGELES DODGERS -115

The Cubs have had issues all year in various aspects of their team. Their offense has been anemic at times, and now recently their bullpen is in shambles (in particular, their closer situation). As of right now, I don't see this team making the playoffs. They don't play with a sense of urgency, which is vital when playing in big series' down the stretch. This is definitely a big series for the Cubs if they are trying to make a push in the race. Lilly has been arguably their best starter this year, and he pitches well historically against the Dodgers. However, after a loss last night, I feel like the Cubs are going to continue to struggle today against a good team, and a rookie knuckleballer who was impressive against the Cardinals in his last start. I like the Dodgers to take this one today. BOL to all!

BTW, I got this line at -115 earlier this morning, it has probably moved a bit since then.

Like this one alot too Nubbs. Haven't totally convinced myself on it yet but lookin real hard. Charlie Haegar the knuckle baller will make his 2nd start. He has great comand. I have seen him personally tons as he was a former Birmingham Baron, representin the farm team in Alabama is as close as we get profesional baseball-wise:lol:

Soriano is out of the cubs lineup too. may be a good or bad thing with the way he's been

Well, Aaron Miles is in the starting lineup. I was leaning Cubs but now I'm making a nice bet on the LA RL to try and make up last nights close RL loss

Its -105 now.

I was leaning towards the Cubs. Why do you think Dodgers will take this one?

Cubs aren't good at Dodger Stadium, they've lost 5 of 6 there. They have been finding ways to lose games lately, and because of that, the media has been all over them. Lou Piniella looks tired and not like his usual, fiery self. I feel like its rubbing off a bit on the players. Lilly has been lights out in his career against the Dodgers, but even if he pitches a gem today, I think the Dodgers can get to that bullpen. I watched Haeger pitch against Carpenter earlier this week, and I was really impressed. For a knuckleball pitcher, he has excellent command. A couple bad pitches to Pujols and Ankiel cost him that game. It could've just been a fluke, but I'm willing to take the superior team today at home against a team who looks like they've lost a bit of life. Hope that answered your question, King. BOL today!

OAKLAND A'S -105

This pick is more about gut feeling for me than anything. I don't expect many people to agree with this, but I'm gonna play it small just to give it a shot. Cahill's numbers this year have not been good, but the scoop on this kid is that he has the potential to be a very good pitcher for a very long time. The vast majority of young players go through growing pains that many times can make or break their career. Cahill has gone through those growing pains, no doubt. He has shown signs of drastic improvement in his last couple starts, however, losing 3-2 at Baltimore and picking up a no-decision in a 3-2 Oakland victory against the White Sox. Galarraga has not been much better this year for the Tigers. He hasn't shown the same signs of improvement, in fact he seems to be regressing from a very solid rookie season last year. One of Cahill's problems in his last couple outings has been lack of run support. I look for the A's to come out swinging off Galarraga finally getting Cahill off his personal losing streak, and possibly give him the confidence that helps him become what many scouts are expecting him to be. I'm out for the night. Be back tomorrow with more. BOL to all!
