he looked like he was all but done in Boston, so he comes back to the NL, and although it was against the lowly Padres, he still managed to go 5 innings, 3 hits, and 9 k's......
those are old Smoltz numbers there, except he would have gone longer in the past....thats pretty impressive though, after struggling all year so far....this could be a real steal for the Cards if he can manage to stay close to that the rest of the year.....
He seems like a nice guy, so glad to see it for him, but can say, I am surprised...wasnt sure he had that kind of outing left in him....
