My local mens tennis team won regionals and sectionals and are playing in the nationals tourney in Palm Springs in October! Pretty cool that there has not been a team from our club to make it to nationals in over 10 years. We will be the 2.5 mens representative for Florida (just started playing this year). Anyways, we are flying into LAX and driving to Palm Springs. We arrive in LA around 3:30 pm on a Thursday. Travelocity has us going 60 and connecting into 10 and I was thinking taking 10 the entire way..If anyone can shed some light on which way will be faster please let me know..I am sure you LALA peeps have made this trex.

TIA

Any reason you are not flying into Ontario? Or Orange County at least?

ONT to PS is a straight shot down the 10...only an hour (and not much traffic).

SNA to PS is about 1:45 normally but figure 2.5-3 hours for 91 east at that time of day

LAX is about 2:15 normally but you are looking at 4+ hours most likely.

I wouldn't want any part of the 10 or 60 Eastbound through LA at that time of day.....I'd take 105 E to 605 S to 91 E to 60 E. The 105 E is no treat at that time but if you're lucky the 91 E through Corona & Riverside may have lightened up by the time you get there.

Thanks HAT. The flight to LAX is direct from Orlando. 4.5 hours compared to changing planes and 7.5 hours (with layover) to Ontario. If I can fly direct anywhere I will. I have a meeting in Burbank Mon and Tues so we fly out of LAX anyways on Wed. I will check your directions..So would you definitely stay away from I-10 and take 60 at the worst case?

Each match is 2 doubles and 1 singles. I (and most of the team) just started about a year ago. We are 2.5 but the entire team just got re-rated 3.0. We also received the draw for the tourney. We have the tougher regions in our bracket (Caribbean and California) and we play 7:30am and 10:30am Fri and Sat and if we make it to final 4 Sunday plays at 7:30am and the championship at 9am..talk about no rest..I play in Ocala out of Ft King Tennis Center.

Great sport to get some good excercise and also have heated competition. Get back into a league. The combo league is starting in 3 weeks across the state..We play 2-3 times a week. The only bummer is that the nationals is on hard courts which absolutely kills my shins. We normally play on clay..Let me know when you get signed up you should never have stopped :103631605
