Very few people have what it takes to be a lifetime professional gambler. Emotions have to be kept in check and patience has to be practiced on a daily basis. I play with some players much sharper than me, but I usually can outlast their bankroll at some point. I can't remember the last time I was upset at a poker table.

i play for a living now, you have to treat it like a job, knowing your going to play 8-10 hours per day, i play mostly 2/5 no limit, my goal is win $250 per day. i play out of a 5k bankroll, it truely is a grind, you have to have alot of patience, and alot of music on your ipod to overcome the boredum hand after hand.

good luck to you

I used to watch Matt play while i played myself....can tell he's very disciplined and doesn't sweat the bad beats....you play so much you just get used to it. He sees the 'long run'....knows that the numbers will pan out.

I can't stand the bad beats. Has made me quit so many times.

It takes 8-10 hours a day to make 250? Or do you earn more than that

Muscle up....Do you think that Cris Carpenter was ready to quit last night when the Stros punked the Redbirds?

Do I have to buy you a CC jersey to lure you down here for sports weekend with FISH and BILLSY?

once you play a significant number of hours online, bad beats just won't rattle you, you see them so often.

I play as a "pro", and I use that term loosely, during the summer. I usually bring in a couple K in very limited play. I think I could clear much more if I would just go to the boat every about 3-4 days a week, but I have too much going on to bother really. I enjoy playing what I play and im happy to take what Ive made during the summer and use it on something fun. Believe me, the boats around here are very beatable

The term professional poker player is used much too loosely. Only a significant time will tell. I have been a professional gambler my entire adult life, but could never be just a poker pro. That is why I have achieved decent results over the years playing any type of cards. I DON'T have to play!

You can outplay an entire table over 200 hands over 5 hours and blow all or half of it all on One hand. Very aggravating. If you have that hick all day fisherman mentality that is half the battle. I dont have the patience, although I am a good player.

I feel that way also, but I'm probably just kidding myself.

Lets keep in mind boys Matt plays something like 12 tables at a time or whatever it is. And he has stated several times makes good coin on rake back.
