I was just thinking if there were any life lessons we can learn from gambling on sports. It could be positive things or negative things. Just lessons that we could transfer into our everyday lives.

For example, we could say that anything is possible in sports. Take risk sometimes with a big underdog and you could hit it big. So in life, you take a gamble on decision, like a new job, or trying a new experience, and it could open your mind to something new.

Right now I can't think of anything else but would like to see if there are more.

Thanks guys. :toast:

Biggest thing I learned is there are more important things than gambling.

I haven't found them yet, but I'm sure they are out there.

I'd say diversify. All too often, at least in my experience, I've put a lot down in one game and it ended badly.

In my life I've tried time and again to have a balance between work, family, and friends And even trying new things. If we lock ourselves into one thing and we can't do that one thing anymore we don't know what to do with ourselves.

I suppose it's the preverbial never putting your eggs in one basket mentality.

Should have never started gambling in the first place.

Not talking from a monitary standpoint. I have missed doing too many things with friends and others because of College football and College basketball on a Saturday night.

For example, I would miss going out to watch Va Tech vs Bama with know money on the game, but because of gambling, I would stay home and watch Hawaii vs Nevada, hoping a nice 2nd half would open up.

As I have gotten older, I realize that gambling is fun, but there are many better areas to channel my time and energy.

Sports betting taught me to be tight with money lol

Put money away in Savings accounts. As a gambler you can see how quickly 5-10 dimes can vanish ....One day the betting account is full....one week later...WTF happened

I dont want to be 50 years old sitting around saying WTF happened.....So I save money....Money has this unique away of getting away from us

Nothing wrong with gambling or enjoying yourself...Just be sure you put money away in a place it wont be used for betting, hookers, porn, girlfriends, clothes, ballgames, trips to vegas, etc etc lol

Sportsbetting has taught me to think longterm......its taught me how to handle money in a much wiser fashion

I remember many years ago, my wife insisted that we all go camping for the weekend. I remember practically sprinting up this mountain just so I could get a clear signal on my phone so that I could call a bet in. Of course all that effort resulted in me losing money. Now I just refuse to go camping!

Actually, like bigtendominator. I've learned that if I miss a day or two of gambling it's no big deal. I have a much better time with family and friends if I just don't bet that day rather than trying to sneak a bet in on somebody's PC.
