Bought a New Laptop......Question ???

How do I get my Favorites from My Old Laptop, to My New Laptop ???

Any way to copy them ?? or do I just have to Punch each one in on my New Laptop ?? ^<<^

Are you using firefox? Not exactly what you are after but something to consider is getting an xmarks account. It will upload all of your bookmarks to a database that you can then use from any computer.
Google has one as well, but I didn't like it.

I use Firefox, But Most of my Favs are on IE

in IE you go:

1) File
2) Import Export
3) Export to a File
4) Favorites.

Then you need to save to a hard drive, or an SD card or USB or whatever. Then after that put the hard drive to your new computer, go File, and Import

what operating system did u get, i want a new lappy but im waiting for the new windows

A New Dell advertises 'With Vista', all my other stuff is Windows XP. Will it be a smooth transition?

make sure if you buy a new one that you get a free upgrade to windows 7 coming out later. Im holding out till that is available.

i bought my laptop from tigerdirect.com so i could get xp instead of vista.

All my Tech buddies told me to get Vista, So that's what I got.

With a Free Upgrade to Windows 7

All you have to do is copy C:\users\"username"\Favorites from your old computer to your new computer. You can zip it and email it to yourself or copy it to a flash drive. Dump the contents into the Favorites folder on your new machine and they'll be there. If your previous machine was xp, they will be in C:\Documents and Settings\"username"\Favorites.

Yeah, my old laptop is XP. Sounds easy, I'll give it a try tomorrow.
Still copying some stuff on Disc and getting rid of things I don't need . Before I start setting up my new Laptop.

Yeah, they make them pretty Solid now.... Scary thing is, that I paid on $549 for this New one....When, my old one I paid $1300, and it's only 1GB

But now my Next Buy will be a PC Tower for the wife.

Also, what i like about this New one is I have a Full Number Keypad on the right of the Key Board....Which I have never seen before.

So the Laptop is like having a PC Key board

Oh yes. Wide screen and the number pad. Mines is not quite as nice as yours but those two things got me siked. I was like damn I can use this thing all the time and not have to always scoot to my PC to do certain things.
