Great night to be a waiter. Especially at a freaking TGIF.

This is why most NFL players go broke within 5 years of leaving the league.

That's what I heard Gyno.....Same source said Merriman's was over 32K so that was probably a steakhouse.

Still pretty tough to spend $200 a head at TGIF unless they were hitting the booze pretty heavy which I doubt.

And then there is the Ryan Leaf story....He wasn't going to pony up so someone (Seau?) jacked his credit card anyway and Cryin' Ryan flipped over the 3,000 bill. (Must've been an Olive Garden)

Not really....It's just a Charger tradition that only the 1st rounder has to do ONCE....Rookie hazing is all.

This is one thing which infuriates me about society...do you really think in this case that one person got home from work this night and put $1900 in his piggy bank? Figure roughly a minimum of 100 people at banquet, some lame-ass restaurant manager completely overstaffs it...so figure 7 waiters, 4 busboys and a bartender...banquet tips usually divided equally...$158 for the night before taxes...take home roughly $110.

Sorry had to vent...please people, tip waiters generously...you really have no idea how the industry works and how tips are divided...a waiter's job is hard.

That's not a bad bill considering he took out the whole team. They obviously didn't go to that nice of a place if the deserts were only 5 bucks a piece.

$14500 divided by 75 people (giving some room for players and maybe some staff guys , trainers, equipment managers etc). still comes out to $193 a person, so it had to be a fairly decent restaurant

Dont get me wrong its decent, but not something if I was an NFL player I would brag about. Most nice steakhouses charge between $100-$150 just for the steak alone.

whatever dude....bring food, refill drinks...that's about it.

i tip minimum 20% which is way too much for the "hard work" you speak of.
