watched a live feed yesterday of the hit that tied it.. missed it today
I do have a video of Mariano getting his first career RBI off KRod and also his 500th save from the same game
it was so strange watching two of the best closers in the game and one of them batting

I'd say closer to underrated than overrated. One of my favorite Yankees along with Jorge Posada.

most overrated player in the history of sports
If by overrated you mean Rookie of the Year, 10 time all star, 3 time Gold Glover, 3 time Silver Slugger Award Winner, World Series MVP, Captain of 4 World Championships teams (5 in six weeks) and if he wants to play long enough will be break Pete Rose's all time hit record, then yeah, Jeter is overrated.
Next you will tell me Larry Bird is overrated.

How are your Cubs doing?

p.s. you don't watch much sports, do you?

Hats off to Derek Jeter, that is a fantastic accomplishment especially for a player with 5 or so more seasons left in him as a regular.

If by overrated you mean [a bunch of stuff]?

Being overrated or underrated has very little to do with how good or bad someone is, so stop argueing it by saying how good he is. Anyone on the internet can figure those things out for themselved pretty easily

Ripken was definitely better. I would take Yount, Larkin and Banks ahead of him, but it is starting to get very close. And few people who understand the sport would rate him differently, so mostly he is accurately rated. But anyone who puts him far ahead of those shortstops is definitely overrating (though not as much as the people who overrate Jim Rice. . . )

Tom, the guy is a consummate winner, you can not over estimate that.

p.s. Larkin was not a good SS defensively, but Ernie Banks was a god.
It's all good, hope all your tickets get cashed.

Again, anything can be overestimated, underestimated, overrated or underrated -- and that has nothing to do with skills or success. Most people don't this, but some people do give Jeter credit for the things his teammates helped him accomplish. And when they do, they are overrating and overestimating his abilities and accomplishments

A Hall of Famer for sure but a compiler of statistics like Murray & Yaz? In his strongest 3 year stretch he could'nt compare with Arky Vaughn
