Watching this game is making me sick of NFL football or is it even football anymore. The so called Brady rule is called on one of the most ordinary clean tackles I have ever seen and just now I see a roughing the friggin passer for 15 yards when the tackler was simply trying to get the QB on the ground ! This is the most pathetic game I have ever seen in which they call it NFL Football. I even have my money on the Bills but for crying out loud..... Let's play football !
Give me Richard Dent and the Bears or Green Bay and Nitschke or the Vikings and the Purple People Eaters or the Rams and the Fearsome Foursome ! lawrence Taylor ... Tony Nobis.... Butkus .... These guys played football ! We played rougher than today's NFL guys are allowed to play when I played during grade school recess !
Totally agree, kermit. These protection rules got completely out of hand. WTF happened to this game, if you hear commentators say things like "He can't put the QB to the ground this way", when (I forgot, who made the sack) a defender sacks the QB during MNF and throws him down in the process of a sack, without the whistle being blown (or during the process of it being blown)???
I mean, C'mon: A defender has to bring him down and no way that should cause a personal foul...there are QBs out there like Roethlisberger or Russell, who can get lose from defenders trying to sack them. So the defense simply can't afford halfhearted efforts to sack a QB without risking bigplays...
Sometimes I really wonder, when they will start to hand out flag football belts to QBs....
And the "Brady Rule" Play should have been an intentional grounding call and safety instead of a penalty...
