N.J. woman sues colleagues over mock holdup

Pharmacy technician says she is traumatized, wasn't told in advance of drill

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. - A New Jersey pharmacy technician who says she was traumatized when a masked gunman burst into her store demanding OxyContin is suing her employers for arranging the mock holdup.

Babette Perry says in a lawsuit that she was not told in advance of the training drill in December 2007 at the Hampton Behavioral Health Center.
She says she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder after the gunman entered the store, claiming he had taken another worker hostage. She says she tried to call for help, but the phone wasn't working.

She later found out the gun was a fake and the gunman worked for the company.
Perry is seeking damages from the health center and its parent company, Universal Health Services Inc., of King of Prussia , Pa.

Told this story once here before I think but in elementary school (7th grade, yes we went to elementary school in 7th grade in my town) we had a masked gunman enter our room and shoot his gun in the air a few times (blanks) and then run out of the room.

After the gunman left the room the teacher asked us to describe what he looked like. In fact the teacher didn't say a word after about it being a hoax, he just kept asking us to describe what we saw. We tried as a group of 25-30 kids to put together what the masked person looked like from the 7 or so seconds he was in the room. We tried to agree what color shirt, collar, no collar, color of pants, height, weight, etc....The thing I remember the most was kids were screaming, hiding under their desk, etc. It was total mayhem.

Anyways long story short the lesson being taught was a criminal justice type class seeing if we could describe a crime scene after the fact, etc.. That was how they decided to teach us the lesson and 25 years later, I still remember it. The masked gunmen ended up being our principal with a mask over his face dressed in street type clothes but you couldn't tell when it was going on.

This was in 1984. I always ask myself I wonder what would happen today if they did something like that. I don't remember anyone's parents getting upset or anything back then but I remember it scared the shit out of a lot of us. I know today heads would roll if they tried something like this, I guarantee it and rightfully so. Funny how much the world has changed since then.

Ice, that's a pretty Fuked up story there.
Never would think they would do it to a bunch of 7th graders.

But I think you are right....If they did it today with Kids..

You would hear the Parents

So if it was an actual robbery, could the clerk sue the robber in civil court for emotional trauma?

So should McDonald's be allowed to have their coffee at any temp and if someone spills it in their lap, oh well, it's their fault!
