personally, i think there are profitable times to fade and tail the public. for example, i went on a pretty nice run in cbb fading the public on espn games. but at the end of the day, it's just another tool that i like to use when selecting my own games....

Over the past 10+ years of connection with the online sports betting community, I've seen numerous focused efforts by a range of different people to either Fade the public or ride the public.

I'm yet to see any of them finish much different than about 50/50, which in most sports wagering means a modest loss

LOL I love this everytime it comes up. Here's a newsflash for all you people.

YOU ARE THE PUBLIC.

You just want to make yourself feel good about yourself thinking you might be a sharpe player.

YOU ARE THE PUBLIC. GET OVER YOURSELVES.

i guess that makes you a sharp....if i was full of myself and considered myself a sharp, would i feel the need to ask the opinions of others? sheesh, what's up with these clowns that wanna bash a guy just for asking a question? good lord:laugh: they need to get over themselves

Sooner this comes up about 5 times a year. I just find it funny as hell. Don't worry I ripped on them also.

No I am not a sharpe. LOL far from it. I just find it funny that you would change your mind on a bet if you knew more people liked your bet.

The only people that will win for sure is the books. Thats why they are in business.
Like the teams aregoing to play any different.

yeah, i see the subject pop up a bit in the other forums, haven't seen it in the offshore forum. just like to hear others' opinions.

if i have a game i really like and i see 80% of the public on it, it gives me pause. kind of like seeing brandon lang on your side....not saying that it would cause me to change my bet, but i might be more inclined to go back and see if i'm missing something.

i have noticed that you use trends a lot as far as your baseball capping goes. if i could offer you a 75%, 2 year angle where tailing the public was profitable, would you consider it?

Each sport is different. When I bet baseball I do not even look at the public %s. When I bet College Football I put a lot of stock in where the public is at.

Do you think Billy Walters looks at public betting percentages? I received an education on this subject early in my wagering career.

Same here, I look at the percentage money, rarely will I let those numbers influence my wager, but I am curious to who is betting what.

say what you want but when a game such as last night .....the house would usually need gtech quite big but the public was very split on the game all the books really needed was under 53 1/2 which of course worked out........public has a gift when they like a dog the favorite has a tendency to roll..........

I cap my own games first, then I'll look at shit like that.

I'm telling you, if the overwhelming majority of the public is on one team and the overwhelming majority of Rxer's is on the same team, it's either fade or no play for me.

I won't switch a side, but I'll probably take it down.

Waste of time. Everyone I know who fixiates on "fading the public" is a losing degenerate gambler who has faced the fact they will lose every other way, and or believes every game is fixed for the point spread.

I'm not saying everyone who fades the public regularly is like that, but it's definitely a trend i've noticed.

This does make sense.

Homer NCAAF >> Homer MLB, even allowing for Stankees and BlowSox Nation.
