i cannot seem to find the video of Phish covering Purple Rain by Prince.

I wonder if Prince ordered all renditions to be removed from the web.

One of my favorites. This is from the US festival in 1983. Worth noting is that this is from the last gig with Mick Jones in the band.

Prince always wanted total control of his music. Guess you can't blame him. The music business is very shady and will screw the artist any chance they get.

or did the have permission to cover it live, but simply not post any videos or have it in their albums?
