They have 9 players, who must be awful, instead of 40+ at a real jai-alai fronton. I could probably make this roster at 45.

Is this just to have poker, Florida dudes ?

I've never seen a pro play with a cesta all taped up like Ivan ( #13).

No , I didn't bet on this, you'd have to be there in person to "bet" it.


No bets are made most games, click on results, didn't paste well here.

Even show bets get refunded.... as in absolutely no action on this.

Somehow they must do this, so they can have poker, is my guess.

Need a Floridian to explain this.

I'm a big fan of the sport, when we had it CT. I used to be a rather decent amateur player with pro aspirations in the early 80's, played against many former, current and future pro players back then.

saw this place in Jasper mentioned there.

It has to be a "front" of sorts, so they can have a poker room, only thing that makes sense to me.

Doug- you are right in your assumption it is there for Poker. In Ocala there is a jai alai fronton in the middle of the woods. They have live Jai alai is only for 60 days. They ship some players in from Orlando. Although the talent appears to be mych better than Jasper, it is there purely to keep the license active and more importantly for poker.

On a side note love Chaz #14...rotflmfao..nice fro..Looks like the guy from Sanibel who would show up at all the Pacer games and hold up the funny signs--remember him?

No I don't recall the Pacer guy.

It just seems ridiculous to me, for Florida to make these cardrooms have live jai alai ( that nobody bets on), in order to have poker.

Is all poker at jai alai frontons and dog tracks in Fla ?

Why not just let them have poker rooms ( like CA does) ?

I bet Hamilton doesn't handle $100 in a day with jai alai !

They should rent the court out to amateur players in the off season.
