Mackenzie Phillips: My Father shot me up for the first time

In a new tell-all interview, "One Day at a Time" child star Mackenzie Phillips discloses to Oprah Winfrey shocking details of her unhealthy relationship with her father, her drug use and an alleged sexual encounter with The Rolling <NOBR style="COLOR: darkgreen; FONT-SIZE: 100%; FONT-WEIGHT: bold" id=itxt_nobr_1_0>Stones </NOBR>' frontman Mick Jagger.
"My father shot me up for the first time," Phillips reveals on a promo for "The Oprah Winfrey Show." She recalls her father only being slightly nervous when he injected her with cocaine, saying it seemed to be the "next logical progression."
"I remember going into my room, I was crouched on the floor. ... He put the needle in my arm and put the plunger in and he missed. He missed the vein and my whole arm went numb."
In addition to talking about her early drug use, Phillips also opened up about an alleged run-in she had with Jagger, saying, "Mick Jagger locks the door and he says, 'I've been waiting for this since you were 10 years old." In the promo, Phillips does not reveal her age at the time of this encounter.
Phillips' explosive interview will air on "The Oprah Winfrey <NOBR style="COLOR: darkgreen; FONT-SIZE: 100%; FONT-WEIGHT: bold" id=itxt_nobr_7_0>Show </NOBR>" on Wednesday, Sept. 23, and her memoir High On Arrival will also hit bookstores on the same day.

Mackenzie Phillips reveals that she and her father, John Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas, engaged in an incestuous, consensual affair starting the night before she got married in 1979 ... that she remembers, at least.

Phillips writes about her relationship with her father -- "not a man with boundaries" -- in her new memoir, “High on Arrival," and is set to talk about this deep, dark family secret today with Oprah Winfrey.

“He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs," Phillips writes of her father, according to People. The elder Phillips, who died in 2001, had shown up the night before his daughter was set to marry Jeff Sessler, a member of the Rolling Stones entourage, in 1979, and was determined to stop the wedding.

Father and daughter had both taken a lot of drugs that night. “I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father," she writes.


So just how out of it was Phillips in the late ‘70s? She believes that was the first time she had sex with her father ... that she was “aware of it.”

The following year, she was fired from “One Day at a Time” because of her drug problems, and checked into rehab with her father, at Fair Oaks psychiatric hospital in Summit, N.J., along with his third wife, Genevieve Waite, in " a counterculture parody of family togetherness," according to a 1996 People magazine article. At the time, the People reporter didn't know the extent of the togetherness; father and daughter had continued their sexual relationship.

Three of John Phillips' other children, lived nearby for moral support, according to the article. "It was our family goal," Mackenzie told People at the time, "because we needed our dad."


The two toured together in the '80s as part of the New Mamas and the Papas, and he reportedly talked to her about moving somewhere where "no one would look down on us. There are countries where this is an accepted practice. Maybe Fiji," according to the Los Angeles Times.

According to MTV.com, Mackenzie confronted her father before his death, telling him, "We have to talk about when you raped me." Her father reportedly replied, "You mean when we made love?"

Phillips' mother was Suzy Adams, a socialite, but Adams and Phillips divorced in the early 1960s. Phillips later married Mamas member Michelle Phillips, with whom he had a daughter, the singer Chynna Phillips, now married to Billy Baldwin. John and Michelle Phillips split, and then he married Waite, with whom he had two children, the actress Bijou Phillips and musician Tamerlane Phillips.

i remember seeing them in an interview on tv, telling about their drug use. They said they didnt even bother to take the needle out of their arm, cause they shot coke so frequently. and one or both had died multiple times from over dose's and were revived. this was probably 15/20 yrs ago.

The Jagger story is old, everybody knows shes a coke whore so im sure had to make up something else to sell her book and get on the Windbag show. What a sick society that anybody even wants to know about this much less tell it on TV and buy the book......Sick Mf'rs...or in this case DF'rs.
By the way if anybody caught the show id love to know if Windbag asked her if she supports govt healthcare? Her views on the subject im sure should be taken in the highest of regards.........

I just watched the Oprah show.

Basically, when she turned 18, Mick Jagger locked her in a room and
said that he couldn't wait for this... and he banged her while
her dad was banging on the door.
