How come teams dont cheat the system more

I might be nuts here, but I think this could work. There are always loopholes to get what you want. take for example rubio and his contract buyout problems. The wolves owner worth hundreds of millions of dollars could pay a foreign company to hire Rubio as a spokesmen and he would have been able to pay for the the buyout and get around the limited amount the wolves are able to officially put up. You know all these owners have shell companies or so many smaller companies and invested interest, it would be hard to prove to the nba.

Take example Lebron James being courted by the Nets. New owner is a russian tycoon and has basically endless cash. Your telling me no way he can make some type of offer to Lebron on the side to circumvent salary cap issues. Im sure the number of shady russian banks is basically unlimited and once again, it would be so hard to prove that Lebron is getting paid say $150 million for his contract as opposed to the posted 92 million or whatever the nba max is.

I said this for years. Hire a parent or spouse of the player and pay them x amount, thus circumventing the cap.

I believe the penalty is very steep, that is why most don't do it, is my guess.

Also, maybe they are doing it and we just don't know, its not like they are going to annouce it.

How can anyone know exactly how much or little it goes on?

We know for sure the Wolves tried it with Joe Smith (of all the players, why him?)

When LeBron was in highschool mommy took out a nice loan so he could drive around in an H2. How do we know college stars aren't doing that? Any bank would jump at the chance to offer one
