I remember when the vegetable man walked his cart down the street and stopped at each house and I would eat pea pods raw and get carrot tops for my rabbits.

I remember milk machines.
Put 50 cents in the slot, get a gallon of milk, just like todays coke dispensers.

I'm so old I remember Bob Gibson telling Tim McCarver to go back behind home plate saying "what can you tell me about pitching except that you can't hit it"

When I was deemed old enough by my parents to take the two bus and one L train trip to Wrigley Field, the first Bears game I saw from standing room only was on a freezing December Sunday.

I sure was excited though cause I was gonna get to see Bobby Layne at QB for the Lions.

I can remember a refrigerator we had when we kids and the freezer was only about 10 inches by 10 inches square.

Rotary telephones.

Milk delivered to our house.

Watching 1 baseball game a week on Saturday afternoon on our black and white TV and it was always the Yankees.

Speaking of gas stations, I remember when 2 stations that were across the street from each other were having a gas war.

Lowest price it got down to was 19 cents a gallon.

Movies were 25 cents and that was for a double feature. Use to love the Abbott and Costello movies when I was a kid. Sometimes we would stay in the movie and watch the movie again.

I remember seeing TV for the first time when my uncle took me to the VFW club. The Lone Ranger was on.

Use to shine shoes at the corner bars. And I mean "corner bars". They had one on just about every corner in the city where I grew up in N.J.

I remember when candy bars were about 5 cents, and they were huge compared to today's product.

A carton of cigarettes cost about $2.

An ounce of weed cost $20 - of course the quality is not as good as today.

They used to play doublheaders on Sundays and holidays in mlb.

The Mets played at the Polo Grounds, forget the Mets the Giants played at the Polo Grounds.
