Why isn't NCAA BB a more popular betting sport?

The season has over 10K of games to bet on, and there are dozens (if not hundreds) of games on almost every day. If you pick and choose your spots and have ample money management I "bet" this sport can be a cash cow much like the MLB was for me pre-all star break.

Just a quick tidbit...

Games played during the regular season in the 5 most popular U.S. sports.

CBB: 10976 games (343* about 32 games; differs for each team)
MLB: 4860 games (162*30)
NBA: 2460 games (82*30)
CFB: 1452 games (120*12)
NFL: 512 games (32*16)

To no surprise, football is drastically overrated in terms of # of wagers available. Yet, most bettors always says "just wait until football season - I know that sport in and out". Something tells me that if there is one sport you need to figure out, CBB is the one.

I might just do that. I've got a $300 return airfare that needs to be used within the next year.

Debating between 3 possible weekends...

- Upcoming b-day in November
- New Years (drive to Tempe to see the Insight Bowl should UM or IU be in it)
- Opening 2 rounds of March Madness

NCAA hoops gets bet hard.
Maybe not NFL hard, but go to Hilton Sports Book on any Saturday in February, you'll see.

College Basketball is my number 4 ranked sport that I like to wager on and tend to get a good feel for it...

It is tuff to handicap all those games on a full schedule Saturday tho!!

For a serious numbers handicapper, it requires the most amount of work by far - over 200 teams with widely available lines, and those Saturday's are unreal - everyone plays on Saturday.

It is very beatable though, especially if you are an O/U player and can hit the numbers early.

Your math on the number of games is wrong...each should be halved, but your point is well taken. I have had shitty luck in years past on hoops in general, so I stick to baseball, football and pucks...

For me CBB has always been my number one cash cow.

You can simply make living on making 2nd half wagers in CBB and you will do very well.

To the casual viewer, I can see people not giving a crap for the first two months until league play begins. For the bettor, I'm in paradise when that Hawaii high school gymnasium shootout begins. The only time of the year where I get to bet Chaminade games :)

100's of games a day? Ummm....certainly not ones that books offer to bet on. On a big Saturday you might get a little over 100. I love CBB.
