People in Baltimore are complaining about how Mark Clayton lost the game for the Ravens. He dropped a pass which would have given us 1st and goal from the 7 or so, with about 30 seconds left. By the time they lined up and spiked it, I would estimate they would have 2nd and goal with 20 seconds or so left... giving them 3 end zone shots barring any sack.

I would estimate this would have given them about a 25 percent chance to win the game. Anyone agree or have any type of stats which shows exact figures?

league wide, from first and goal at the seven teams have scored TDs 60% of the time, according to the stats I have. Obviously the clock was working against them, but they would also be giving no consideration to kicking a field goal. Baltimore pass offense is 11th in the league, NE pass defense is 16th

About 40% chance I would guess

2nd and goal from the 7 with 20 seconds...with no timeouts (I assume)...average should be at least a 50% deal. As long as you avoid sack you got 3 throws to the endzone. If you take 6 shots at the endzone you ought to get in at least 1 time, which would make a 1/3 a 50% proposition.
