We used to have Ganchrow, Woody O ( Canada), Illini, and a few more.

Any stellar math guys left at RX, as related to sports betting ?

SS, ain't the math guy....any Mathy mods ?

Who is now the go-to Math guy....please don't say Doug, there has to be better than me.

Doug

My advice is to ask your question and see what kind of response you get. Math itself covers a lot of ground. I know Illini and Wolfie CR both posted today. Woody O does not come up as a user name, does anyone know how he spells his user name exactly?

Thanks, wil.

I have posted a question for Ganchrow here and he answered. Regardless of where they go, people still visit the RX.

I have a college degree in Mathematics (almost 30 years ago). Depending on the problem, that might not mean anything. If it has to do with gambling, I can probably answer.

dude... equations may not be my thing... but I have a strong instinct for match when watching the screen, line moves and knowing when to jump on or off numbers.

Someone I know was taking a stats test on my computer since her internet was down. I got all 6 questions right that I tried even though I never took that type of stats. I was also hammered. So yeah, I'm pretty freakin awesome.

I love Geography

Not bragging or anything but Geography has always been my strongest subject from grammar school to this day. I have always been able to name the 50 US State capitols by the states name alphabetically backwards.

This is an expansion of a FH thread started at RX today. RX has lost her top math guys lately.

The prospect of ML was brought up, then determined to be not an option.

However it got me thinking about the best way to go, with ML allowed.

I can't figure that one out, and it bugs me.

Think like an actuary/accountant/ mathematician sort on this. You know the math and stats and lines, but nothing about football itself, you don't even know a football isn't round.

One of these lines should be best, given the halftime cancel option.

Dog + the help/ fav - the points have to be pretty equal in expectation.

Now are either dog ML, or Fav ML, much worse/better than the spread.... and WHY !

I suppose the answer can change a lot given a tiny spread ( 2.5), and a huge spread ( 22.5), so lets answer this for a 7 spread, and the given lines

I just go to the SBR handicapper think tank with math questions. Best place, imo. Justin7 and ganch, the two best math handicappers I've come across, both post there.

the above was posted at sbr's PT, not TT.

I agree Justin7 (daringly), is top shelf, but not quite Ganch.

I've learned more from Justin7 about handicapping then the rest of the gambling forum world combined. Plus he occasionally gives out some picks which are money.

Justin is a better teacher than Ganchy.

Ganch knows more math, can't teach what he knows as well, gets too technical.
