Dodgers series bet is basically a small hedge against my St Louis futures.

Will add some more info on these plays later.

Do you really like the Phils in game one or is it a hedge??

agree with Boston, for sure.

Doug - Any suggestions on the best way to hedge this Colorado future, or should I let it ride, see if they make the World Series, and hedge there?

HD, always nice to see your plays. I have already bet the Cards to win the series vs the Dodgers and kind of like the Phils today, but am hesitant to pull the trigger because of the fishy appearance of the line. Lee really didnt finish the season that strong. What makes you like the Phils enough to bet them?

GM 1 St. Louis/Los Angelas Under 7 -117 3.51/3.00

I love unders during playoff baseball. Carpenter has been unreal, and Wolfe has been extremely good lately. Neither offense is exactly tearing it up so I will take my chances. I think the Cards will win in a low scoring game.

I think the line is set right, maybe should be a tad bit higher for home field. But you said it, Lee hasn't been great lately, and Ubaldo has been on. But over the season the Phils, with their left dominant lineup (Rollins, Utley, Howard, Ibanez) they have hit righties better then lefties, while Colorado has hit for less average vs. Lefties (Lee) then righties. Another reason I wasn't afraid to make a play on the Phils was b/c of the size of the future bet I have on Colorado. I won't hesitate to take the other side if I see any advantage at all. I think Philadelphia will win in another close, low scoring game.

I have some Rockies at about 80/1 myself.

It's not a huge bet, so I'm letting it ride for at least the first series.

To hedge, I'd consider Matchbook lines on Colo to lose, maybe make an offer.

Hope is not a strategy.

MB has:

Colo to win +1500
Colo to lose -1750

So if you offered Colo to win at +1550 ( giving you Colo to lose -1550), that is the pure hedge to a Colo to win future.

If you have +8000 for a lot/ -1550 can take some edge off of it, like enough to pay back your original stake.

I like Colo in this 1st series, and game 1, so I'm not hedging.

Ya i decided to give it a game and see if they can get up a game in the series, and then decide again. Hopefully they can make a run to the WS without having to hedge too much, then make a straight hedge, which would be far less confusing. Big "if" though

Did you make that bet before the season?

I think I made mine in about early to mid July
