Clutch long balls from both teams have the game tied up at 4-4 in the top of the eighth. The Yankees officially selected Option A for playoff format and will host the winner of this game tomorrow in NYC.
C.C. Sabathia will go for The Bombers.

I agree. Have watched almost the whole game and it really looked like the Tigers might run away with this thing in the early going.

But it's been a great fight.

Certainly qualifies as a Real Playoff "elimination game"

Was frankly startled when I surfed away for about 20 minutes, came back and found Tigers (who I have modest $$ interest in tonight) with Zach Freaking Miner on the hill

Yeah, this is awesome...baseball at it's best.
And the very best thing is IMO is that it won't end at like 1 am EST like some playoff games:howdy:

Twinkies were forced to bring in Joe Nathan to put out a fire in the top of the eighth. Not good for the Twins if this game goes 11 or 12 innings. Top of the 9th coming up - all tied up. Nathan facing top of the order with Ramon Santiago on first with a bunt for an infield single.

The pitch to Polanco, you mean? I thought so too. Plus, I thought Granderson got back in time.. I'm surprised they didn't show the reply on that.

Nice bunt and a hell of a play by Lyon..Oh Oh - Fernando "Walk Off" Rodney on the hill with a man on 2nd one out. Hell of a play by Inge to get the second out and save the Tigers season (for now).

Nice job by Rodney..How far can Nathan go? If he goes another inning and the Twins win I can't see him being available tomorrow night at Yankee Stadium.

Top of the tenth...The season that won't end...:drink:

Inge definitely saved the game for the Tigers. When it left the bat, I thought it was definitely in the hole. He really covered some ground there.
Great game!!

Horrible play by Rayburn to let that ball get by him for a bogus triple.

this is one of those games you just have to say "wow".... i'm not a fan of either side, but it is one hell of a game. shame, that whoever wins has to turn around and play at ny tomorrow
