Hey Jordy. Missed you as I don't see you in my football threads. Best of luck with your Dodgers and your wagers in the MLB post season. Let's start off with a winner with the Phillies! :toast:

ted, any opinion on cards -1.5? road team get all 9 at bats, plus insurance run more likely?

It's really great to hear from you. I really don't like the Cards on the RL. This one looks like a pitcher's duel and could be a one run win. The only reason I favor the Cards is because Wolf has no playoff experience and that might be just enough that he makes a few pitching mistakes. Carpenter should keep the runs to a minimum, but having to win by 2 is iffy IMHO.

wolf being a lefty vs the middle of the cards righty power lineup seems like it will result in some big innings....

i know they have to set that total at 7, or else everyone would pound under 9, but im a big believer in righty/lefty matchups, and despite the cards offensive woes at end of year, i think they get to wolf for at least 2 2run + innings.....

it isnt always the 2 or 3 run homer by pujols or holliday that does it, but if the 9, 1 or 2 hitter gets on, they always pitch pujols and holliday so carefully and wind up walking guys to really create the big inning by trying to avoid the big smash from the big name hitter.

incidentally carpenter hit a grand slam in his last outing, hes no slouch at the plate himself

i think i mightve just talked myself into betting the over

I am a big believer in the lefty/righty match-up as well. The interesting thing is that the Cards are only hitting .234 against lefties and .274 against righties this year, however, are 28-21 against lefties. I agree that the Cards may get to Wolf early due to his playoff inexperience and possible nerves even though he finished the season strong and is at home. Torre purposely is starting two left handers, tonight and tomorrow, because of the Cards average against lefties. Tough call on the RL and Total. Best of luck whatever you decide.
