Do you, as a sports bettor, laugh at lottery players?

And I don't mean someone who plays $1 a week or something like that but the people who spend $5 or $10 a day?

I just think they have better chances of betting that on sports and winning over the long run.

I don't really laugh at them. I just don't understand the appeal or enjoyment of the lottery as it is totally random. At least in our thing there is the thought process associated with handicapping.

True. At least even if you lose you can still watch the game and enjoy it. You can't enjoy watching the numbers get jumbled around.

Also I dig the sportsbetting for the clapping/stomping fans as well as the bigger players wanting to win for the poontang. ...ya didn't do coldweather justice - but seriously, betting a game or match and then watching it unfold is a few measurements short of an average blow-job on the scale of contentness in my life. Betting on ping pong balls?? Really??

When we bet, we expect to win. When they buy a lottery ticket say on a Mega Lottery, they are buying a dream for a day or two.

I wouldnt laugh at someone playing the lottery for only $10 a day.

But the bad thing is that alot of people are buying 2 or 3 $50 scratch-off tickets per day as well as $25 in quick picks

$10 a day is nothing. Hell I bet 100-200 times more than that on baseball alone.

And I will never hit for $30 million like they might.

I will admit to buying a few $50 lottery tickets in my time. But the most that I have ever hit was $2000 on a $50 ticket.

that is so true. i have gone into gas stations where folks buy rolls of tickets, get keno tickets, and scratch the tickets in front of the screen that shows their keno numbers.....and then go to the counter for another round

And when I buy a $50 ticket, I take it home to scratch it off very slowly! I like them because at least the odds of "getting your money back" is 2.56 to 1

No I don't laugh but I never play the lottery myself. Actually, I hate to see many of those who play the lottery that really can't afford to and use their food money reaching for the stars.

Occasionally, when there has not been a payout for a long time and the payout gets into the 100's of millions, it can be +ev. The # of people entering does not go up proportionately to the increase in payout.
