LAD is 13-7 in their last 20 at home. They have had a lot of success against Wainwright, but I am not sure how much this matters, he is a different pitcher the last 2 years, but...

Belliard 4-10 1 HR
Ethier 5-16 2 2B 1 HR 3 RBI
Furcal 7-16 1 3B 3 RBI
Loney 4-14 2 2B 1 HR 2 RBI
Martin 7-14 2 2B 2 RBI

The bad...
Manny 0-5
Kemp 1-8
Blake 1-7

I think a big stat in this game will be the walks by Kershaw, 91 BB in 171 IP is not good (Wainwright has 66 in 233 IP). Kershaw has dominated STL in the past with a 1.82 ERA in 25 IP.

Pujols are Holliday are a combined 8-17 0HR and 8 RBI. So if he gets them out I think LAD wins again. If Kershaw has control problems and is forced to pitch to Pujols and Holliday he could be in trouble.

DeRoda, Ludwick, Molina, Rasmus, Shumaker are 3-25 vs Kershaw

LAD 5
STL 3

....i hope

5-0 is more like the final score....Kershaw and bullpen shut them down

Even if Kershaw does let up some runs, LAD bullpen will do a better job preventing bleeding than the Cards' will. Also hard not to take a home dog in the playoffs.

I see Kershaw lasting at least 6 tonight. Cards are very aggressive so I don't expect too much count working unless Kersh can't find the zone AT ALL. Wainwright should be his normal dominant self and would not be surprised to see a 2-2 or 3-3 type of game entering the 8th & 9th innings. Gotta give it to Sherrill and Brox at that point.

I'm relying on what he was like last Saturday....full shutdown mode...with a reliable bullpen behind him when and if he tires...

I don't think that's a very fair comparison. Cliff Lee is not a 21/22 year old kid going against a perennial Cy Young contender and staring down the likes of Albert Pujols. Lee also is more consistent. Kersh can be great but can also walk 6.
