In all time MLB blunders.

OK, it wasn't as bad as Buckner, but that has to be top 20 material.
2 outs, bottom of the ninth, just catch the ball and you go home even, now (more than likely) your season is over.

1. Buckner
2. Bartman (not #1 b/c it wasn't the fault of a player)

18. Holliday (guesstimate)

The funny thing is after he drops it, he falls down.

given the stage, one of the all time worst

Buckner is hard to top.

The Cards meltdown in game 6 vs the Royals in 85? is also a classic

Game 6 of the 85 Series was the blown call at 1st base by umpire Don Denkenger which propelled the Royals to win. Game 7 was a meltdown as KC won 11-0 and the Cards had several ejections if I remember right. Jaquin Andujar I know Got tossed in that game. The cards led in that series 3-1 and couldn't close it out.

after the blown call, I'm pretty sure there was a dropped foul pop-up 5 feet from 1B

but game 7 was a disaster

Was Lang on the Cardinals yesterday? Cuz those events were surreal basically, DOdgers couldn't hit all day, the game is over then Holliday drops the ball and the bats awaken.
Unreal

That play saved my ass on the day though as it gave me a huge positive swing whereas if DOdgers lost I would've been buried cuz of my big loss on Phillies earlier. IT caused a huge swing for me as after that I cleaned up with Nebby, Angels, and Nebby under.

I made a post elsewhere about those waving white towels. Toughness factor high. Add time of day. And lights being on. Dangerous situation period.

I'm sure Holliday saw the ball at first but lost it momentarily just as he was about to catch it. A pure physical error if you can even call it that. They happen all the time albeit not often in situations like that.

What about the Rasmus bonehead baserunning stunt. Just plain stupid.
And finally Franklin's choke job. Belliard and Loretta are not Manny and Ethier at the plate.

I feel for Holliday even though the side loss cost me a perfect day.

More than 40 yrs ago I was converted from the outfield to catcher when starting my pro career because of one thing. I had trouble picking the ball up off the bat. Five years as a journeyman minor leaguer good hit no field.

don't come in here and try to be reasonable when we're having a bash fest, I was counting my money for about 1.2 seconds (maybe it's my fault)

one of the funniest thing too was that it looked it hit him in the nuts.

If that ball hit him in the nuts, he woulda stayed down. His giant professional athlete cock probably protected the jewels.

In terms of importance, it was nowhere near Buckner-a first round playoff game obviously pales against a game where if you win, you win the World Series, and for the first time in-at the time-68 years. But, in terms of damage, Holliday's was much worse: people forget that the Mets went from being two runs down, two outs, nobody on to tying the game before Buckner's error, which means had he made the play, all it meant was that the Sox got to go to the top of the 11th inning, on the road, against a heavily favored opponent who had all of the momentum-in other words, they were still a good sized dog from that point. And what people also don't realize is that Buckner (who had sore feet and should've been removed for defensive purposes, as he had been during the season and even earlier in that Series), was not likely to beat the speedy Mookie Wilson to first (the brain dead reliever, Bob Stanley, didn't break to cover first). But to go from evening up the series and taking away home field advantage while doing so, to droping an easy pop fly and losing the game 5 minutes later, ugh.

it was heartbreak city...

definitely a top ten error...

the series was going back to st.louis 1-1...

took all of the energy from the team...

but when they look back & analyze the cardinals '09 season...the question will be what happened to pujols in september & october?
