Unh, he was murdered by some psycho obsessive kook thinking that he was "the catcher in the rye".
There is more than enough info out there to prove that.

This is why celebs roll with so many bodygaurds these days.
When I saw Kanye West at PH at that one bash he had a fortress of big ass dudes around him.

Celebs doing the disguise thing, they are taking their chances.

I always thought he was murdered but according to the dictionary this falls under assassination.
