Angels/Red Sox Over 9
Two of the better offenses in the league. The Angels have been a solid Over team this year as their lineup may be a tad underrated and their bullpen overrated. The Red Sox have really been struggling at the plate, but will be willing to back them in some capacity when playing at home with their backs against the wall. Kazmir has been dominant since joining the Angels, but the zone he has been in of late is in jeopardy with only having pitched 11 innings the last 20 days. He has had some success against the Red Sox in the past, but there isn’t many hitters in today’s lineup that he has had success against, while he has struggled against a couple. Kazmir feeds off of getting people to go out of the zone. The Red Sox have a very patient lineup. Cooper has one of the smaller zones in the league. This is a bad combination for Kazmirs style. Backed by a subpar bullpen could allow scoring opportunities for the Red Sox throughout this game.
I think the market likes Buckholtz more than I do. Although he was really coming to his own to round out the season, his last two starts leave a lot to be desired. He has struggled against the Angels in the past and can succumb to the pressure. The Angels speed allows them to have free bases against Martinez. Buckholtz will allow his fair share of base runners.
