I would like some opinions and reasons why here, I am thinking of running a trip with my boys to a college football game/tailgate/overall good time experience.
Here is the deal, it will be men from their late 20's to mid 30's, most married with kids. Just looking for a great time to do every football season, make it a regular thing. A weekend away..
Tickets to the game(if it a tough sell) do not matter, just go to soak in the atmosphere and party for 2 to 3 days.. VEGAS IS NOT AN OPTION.. lets hear what you guys think.. this would be for 2010..

It's called fishing.. if you go with your buddies you're bound to catch something. Be it a buzz, or some nice fish, win win.

LSU.

Spend a couple days in New Orleans, then make the 90-minute drive to Baton Rouge.

LSU tailgating is unreal.

Almost any game in SEC would be fun. But with LSU, you can combine the Nawlins trip.

Since it would be for 2010. I would highly recommend going to the Michigan vs Notre Dame game next year in South Bend. Both teams will be returning a bunch of starters and will most likely be ranked very high in the pre-season poll. I have been to South Bend many times and have never once been disappointed.

Fro,

Do you live in PA?

Will you be driving?

Does distance matter?

Are you or your friends fans of any particular school?

-----

My opinion is to go to ANY SEC venue (well, maybe not Vandy....but Nashville is a great city).

If you go: try to get tickets (why go all the way and not make the game?).

I would try to drive (maybe rent an RV from RV America, or whatever it's called). To get in a good tail-gate experience you need to have supplies: chairs, coolers, grill, canopy tent, maybe a tv (w/ dish), tables, etc. If you fly and rent a car you will be very limited on what you can bring and you'll have a lame tailgate.

If you live in PA, have you been to Penn State? I've never been there, but would imagine it's a great college venue.

I imagine Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin would have some good atmosphere......

Let us know what you decide on...

whatever that means djmatt.

ND-USC this Saturday. It will be electric. But then most any game there is a great time. Have to arrive on Friday to take it all in at ND.

Sucks that Central Mich-Western Mich is the same day as USC-ND. There will be 35,000 for that game. Very electric for a MAC game, and very heated rivals.

Try picking a game where a BCS team visits a place they shouldn't be visiting (ex: Texas at Rice / Wyoming / UTEP / UCF). Those campuses are electric that week.
