Do you think sports gambling will ever become totally legal in this country in our life time?

No....I would have said yes if everything would have went through with Delaware, but after that debacle. I have to say no.

Probably not, but there will always be lots of outs for people who want to gently bend the rules. Very tough to stop something that makes so much money..

Next time I go to FL I will make it a point to let the locals know how much safer I feel for having such a law .........

England has very efficient betting industry. They would probably have a riot or two if their legislature tried to pass our gambling laws over there.

Legalizing sports gambling wouldn't work because it would create jobs, increase revenue for the government and give them the increased ability to track what people are doing.

It's much better to go the moral police route and prosecute, fine and or imprison bookmakers at the expense of tax payers.

*sigh*

It's like what we do with China. Except in this case we outsource to Costa Rica. It's funny, but in a sad way.

Go the exchange route and its a done deal. System is top to to bottom already in place. See number 1.

Number 2 will continue to happen regardless.

It would be one of the few government agencies that would actually generate money instead of spending it.

Dont want it.

Many very good points made here already. but look at what we have; lotteries are held for tax but if you win you are taxed, taxes taken out of all racetrack betting but hit big and you go to the IRS window, same scenario at Vegas.

I dont know about all countries but in Australia lotto is tax free and you can remain anonymous, no extra tax at the track.

All we need is our Government to quit regulateing how and where we spend our money and all would be good.
