Bama's qb had his worst game and the entire stadium knew Ingram was getting the ball. They finally took Mcelroy out and let Ingram get the direct snap for the clinching drive. Should be in the Heisman race.

24 rushes for 247 yards; 2 catches for 23 yards. looked like Jim Brown, tired and hurt but bust off a 15 yard run on the next play.:dancefool

Alabama's sophomore running back followed up a 16-carry, 30-yard performance against Auburn with 189 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns Saturday in a 32-13 victory over top-ranked Florida, which had the nation's topranked defense. Is that enough to surpass Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, who struggled Saturday night in the Big 12 Championship Game against Nebraska?
Is that enough to surpass Stanford running back Toby Gerhart, whose season ended last week? He finished with 1,736 yards rushing and 26 TDs.
Ingram has 1,542 yards and 18 TDs. He broke Bobby Humphrey's single-season school record of 1,471 yards set in 1986.
Heisman ballots are due on Monday. Ingram will find out then if he is invited to New York as a finalist for Saturday's award presentation.
"I would feel real good to represent our school with this rich tradition we have," he said.
Tide has some history in the Rose Bowl
Alabama's next game will be in the Rose Bowl stadium, where it will play on Jan. 7 for the national championship. The Tide hasn't played in that Pasadena, Calif., stadium since its seasonopener on Sept. 2, 2000, when it lost to UCLA 35-24.
It made three appearances in the Rose Bowl game early in its history. It defeated Washington 20-19 on Jan. 1 1926 to cap its first national championship. It tied Stanford 7-7 on Jan. 1, 1927. It defeated Washington State 24-0 on Jan. 1, 1931 to cap another national championship.
"Rose Bowl?" Alabama running back Mark Ingram said. "I think of USC and Reggie Bush and Vince Young holding the rose in his mouth after they won."
He was referring to the quarterback who led Texas to a 41-38 victory over USC for the 2005 national championship.
"I'm going to have the opportunity to play on that stage," Ingram said. "It hasn't hit me. It's kind of overwhelming. We've worked so hard. We deserve it. We still want to accomplish bigger things."
