Are The Yankees Beatable?

Had the Angels not committed several enormous mental errors last night this series would be tied up at 1-1 and people would be saying the Yankees are yet again over rated.

Even still, you gotta admit they look tough as hell... I'm not sure the three man rotation is a great idea for them, Burnett is pitching out of his skull, and CC despite his great outting has historically been pretty average in the post season.

With those bats however, any starter that gives up less than 4-5 runs gives them a chance to win the game. I really hope they crash and burn in the World Series if not the ALCS, but my personal opinion is that the Phillies are really the only team that have a good shot at beating them.

Let's count the things the Angels did to beat themselves:

Fuentas throwing a pitch that even most high school ballers would stay away from against A-Rod in an 0-2 count.

Trying to turn a double play when they had absolutely zero chance of getting it... essentially giving the game away.

Vlad swinging at pitches a foot outside the strike zone with the bases juiced.

A number of bonehead plays at Short....

They deserve to get swept at this rate

Yankees are too hot. Angels have shown no sign of even coming close to touching them.

I'm actually even believing that A-rod is back on something. He went from horrible in the playoffs to being clutch.

I dunno, if you go into the 9th inning with a one run lead on the road and have the major league leader in saves pitching (blown ones notwithstanding) , you're pretty close to touching the other team, lol. If the Skankees were winning most of their games the way Philly did last night, I might say they're unbeatable, but they're NOT winning that way, and they're not unbeatable. Hell, not-too-distant history suggests that even with a three games to none lead and Rivera on the mound in the 9th for the save, they're not unbeatable-so let's not jump to conclusions too quickly.

Of course, if the Angels continue to stubbornly hit Vladdy 4th and he continues to stink out the joint, all bets are off
