How would you rate Direct TV? I have heard that sometimes you can lose the signal in rain or ice storms.

Same as Defying. Tried comcast, but absolutely love DTV.

Comcast Horror Story...

When I moved, I was told I wasn't allowed to have DirectTV here (I do now BTW) I took a half of day at work bc Comcockistic said they would be here from Noon to 4pm. They didn't show until 8pm! I was charged 17 for instillation.. I called and said thats not ok considering I had to wait so long. They agreed to credit me... Ok cool... Well..

Couple Weeks later I have people over for a UFC PPV... I try to order the PPV and cant. They said I can't because I have a "past due balance" of $17. However, this really isn't a past due balance, because it takes 90 days for the $17 credit to go through. I agrue and argue, trying to help them understand that they are NOT allowing me to BUY THEIR SERVICE because THEY OWE ME MONEY... They said there was nothing I could do. I finally gave in after talking to 3 people, only one nice one, and said okay Ill pay the $17 now.. They said I could BUT the Payment wouldnt go through for 24 hours... Meaning I would still have this fake past due balance, therefore unable to order any PPV. After more talking, they said there was absolutely no way around it.... I was in disbelief...

A DirectTV Example...

I had a UFC PPV that the HD picture kept messing up. It wasn't too bad. I called just to see if I could fix it, because it was a small noisance... They were able to, and gave me the next PPV Free. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT DIRECTTV... They are slightly more expensive than Dish, but if you are a sports fan, its a must!

Direct TV by far over Comcast........

Maybe one or two times a year and in very very bad weather will you lose the direct tv signal........and than usually only for a few minutes.......

Direct tv allows you to see so many games.......of course you must pay for all of them......

directv is better but it is true that signal can be lost in rain.
Or a severe snow storm.

What's strange is I lose everything in the 100's when that happens, but the locals ALWAYS work. With the old dish I had this problem often, but the HD dish is larger seems to not flake nearly as much. Lose the signal as mentioned above maybe just a few times a year.

Losing the signal occasionally with DTV still owns having cable. Just my opinion.

Plus if you are a new subscriber, they will toss all kinds of free goodies at you like NFL sunday ticket and all the pay channels. It's so worth a try.

I switched from Comcast to Dish Network several years ago and am very happy with it. Comcast is the worst IMHO. Terrible customer service.
