And Dan Snider should stop making dumb decisions. He's another Jerry Jones who think they know it all about NFL operations.

Not sure but it appears he already has. I haven't seen a coach on the Skins sideline in a while.

No one in their right mind would quit. He signed a five year contract worth $15 million in February of 2008. Why would he quit? Would you throw away that kind of money?

Zorn takes blame for struggles

Washington Redskins coach Jim Zorn lost more than a game on Sunday.
Zorn was told after a 14-6 setback to the previously winless Kansas City Chiefs that he will not call offensive plays anymore.
Executive vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato met with Zorn and told him that he has too many responsibilities right now, Redskins' director of communications Zack Bolno said. The team did not reveal who would call plays, but an announcement is expected on Monday.
Zorn began his postgame news conference with a loud, lengthy sigh into the microphone. And the coach kept on sighing as he discussed a loss which dropped the Redskins to 2-4 this season and 4-10 over their past 14 games.
"I've got to be better. And it really irritates me. Truly irritates me," Zorn said. "And I'm just not going to rest until I get that taken care of."

The heat on Zorn is sure to increase leading up to Washington's next outing: a high-profile Monday night game Oct. 26 against the Philadelphia Eagles, which is followed by the Redskins' bye week.
"Winning would help," linebacker London Fletcher said. "We haven't performed up to our abilities to help coach Zorn out."
As it is, the Redskins are the first team in NFL history to face six consecutive winless opponents, but they haven't managed to take advantage.
In Week 3, the Redskins lost to the Detroit Lions, 0-2 at the time and riding a 19-game losing streak. Last weekend, the Redskins lost to the Carolina Panthers, who were 0-3 entering that game.
Now comes the loss to Kansas City, which was 0-5.
"It's going to be a very hard week. Last week, I thought that was as hard as it can get," Zorn said. "It just got harder."
Asked directly whether he is concerned about his future, Zorn replied: "That part's not up to me, so I won't answer that question."
There will be plenty of questions over the coming days about Washington's quarterback situation. Zorn yanked starter Jason Campbell at halftime and replaced him with Todd Collins, who hadn't played since the end of the 2007 season.

Zorn said Campbell was "a little late in hitting some things" and "inaccurate." Zorn did not make clear who his QB will be moving forward.
Zorn, a former NFL quarterback, is overseeing a team that hasn't scored more than 17 points in any game this season.
The Chiefs entered Sunday allowing 27.6 points and 402.8 yards per game, yet Washington managed only 265 yards of offense, a grand total of seven first downs and went 2 for 14 on third-down conversions.
"This offense is better than six points, 100 percent. And that's on me. It's my fault," Zorn said, before he was stripped of play-calling duties.
There were other issues Sunday, including special teams problems (Washington had a punt blocked), penalties (two of Kansas City's scores were essentially set up by personal fouls) and clock-management trouble.
All of this happened against a Chiefs team that had lost 28 of its previous 30 -- a run of futility that not only sounds like something an expansion team would do, but is: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got started in the 1970s by going 2-28.
"We've got to come together as a complete team," Redskins defensive end Phillip Daniels said. "If you don't get all three phases, then it makes for a bad day. We just didn't have all three phases today."

money isn't everything...

but being able to look in the mirror & have respect what you see is...

b.a. posted what cerrato did after the game to zorn & i guess zorn really needs the money...because i would have never let a non-football guy like cerrato tell me how to run the show...

cerrato only has that job because he is snyder's best friend...he is not a football guy...

for zorn to let 'em pull his pants down like that in front of his players was a joke...

the redksins front office has appointed sherm lewis as the offensive play caller...which is reason enough to quit

ASHBURN, Va. -- From calling Bingo to calling plays, Sherman Lewis is taking Jim Zorn's favorite duty.
<!-- start podcast -->
The Washington Redskins said Monday that Lewis will take over the play calling for an offense that is averaging only 13.2 points per game.

The front office stripped Zorn of the play-calling role following Sunday's 14-6 loss to previously winless Kansas City. The Redskins are 2-4, and they have failed to score a touchdown in two of their home games.

Two weeks ago, Lewis was enjoying retirement in Michigan, calling Bingo games at a senior center and delivering Meals on Wheels. He previously spent 22 years as an NFL assistant and was originally hired as a consultant for the Redskins' offense.

The move is a blow for Zorn, who feels he had a knack for calling plays.

i do not want to offend anyone that works for 'meals on wheels' & does bingo night at the senior centers...

but...

sherm lewis as washington's oc & play caller is asinine...

guy was hired two weeks ago as a consultant...

lewis has no clue about this 'skins team or its players...he was not at the ota's, camps, preseason, or the first month of the season...

not sure why jim zorn accepted this...

he could have stood his ground...refused to hand over the playcalling to some outsider...

& then forced 'em to fire him...

i personally do not 'eat shit' for breakfast, lunch & dinner

You more often than not make sensible posts. However this may not have been one of your better efforts.

*Money isn't everything

B: Correct. It is, however, the best tool for doing what it does.

*Being able to look in the mirro and have respect for what you see is...

B: I'm sure Zorn has plenty of self-respect since he is blessed to have a job that only 31 other people in the entire world hold. And I bet his family respects how he goes to work day after day in spite of dubious success to date.

*i guess zorn really needs the money...because i would have never let a non-football guy like cerrato tell me how to run the show

B: I don't know what you do for your primary income. But I bet if someone offered you $5m a year and then interceded on some of your decision making while maintaining your employment that you would at worst, shrug your shoulders and reply, "Okay buddy. You make those calls. Just make sure my monthly $400K is in on time"

the more i think about what they did to zorn...

he should not quit...

rather... he should have refused cerrato's request to surrender playcalling duties to lewis

& told 'em that he was the coach & cerrato should focus on drafting his next patrick ramsey or jason campbell...

simply...

zorn should have taken the marty schottenheimer approach to dealing with the front office...

after marty lost wade phillips to dallas & cameron to miami...schottenheimer wanted to hire his son as oc

he refused to allow the front office to pick his coaches...which led to spanos siding w/smith & firing schottenheimer after a 14-2 season...schotty sat at home getting paid & could look himself in the mirror...

not sure that zorn can say that...

'b-17' is not a play in the redskins offensive playbook
