The Angels are expected to pitch Scott Kazmir on full rest. The significance? Since 1999, teams using a pitcher on short rest against a fully-rested opponent in the postseason are 7-27. That includes an 0-7 record for pitchers on short rest since Game 5 of the 2004 NLDS, when Houston's Roy Oswalt won on short rest against fully-rested Jaret Wright of the Braves.

In four career regular season starts made on three days rest, Sabathia is 3-1 with a 1.01 ERA. But all was not peachy in last year's NLDS, when Sabathia worked on short rest for the Brewers against the Phillies and allowed five earned runs over 3 2/3 innings.

He got blown up his last regular season game. He's only pitched twice in the playoffs. Personally I don't like betting that someone is "due" for a bad game. I've seen a lot of people say that about Cliff Lee in the playoffs too.

CC makes me sick. The yankees make me sick. I would love nothing more than for that fat fuck to get lit up tonight. Maybe even take a ball to the face. Lets go Angels!!!!

I think some of you are forgetting that Last year......when he was a Complete Workhorse, he had pitched 23 more innings

And the last month of this Season, the Yankees gave him some extra days rest. Just so he would be fresher for the Post season.

Remember, he has pitched 14 innings so far in Post season, era 1.23
15 K's, 1 Walk, and NO Home runs.

So ifyou want to bet against the Yanks because you Hate ?? Good Luck

CC has a rubber arm and is a machine. If he does get hit today, it won't be because of short rest.

I weigh the regular season more heavily than the one post season start in this case.

Before this year, CC simply sucked in the post season, short rest or not. But just like ARod, he is sensational this year. Thus his 3-1 career record with a 1.01 ERA is significant.

Ahhh, but we love how they were favored to win it all for 8 straight years and got bent over the couch each and every one of those years, often in hilariously embarrassing fashion. The Angels did everything possible to lose this game, but the mighty Skankees lost it anyway. Chunky Chocolate better bring it tonight, and Joltin' Joe Giradi better dial back the micro-managing. Kazmir has been more hype than results for some time now, but he always seemed to have pretty good success against the Skanks. It should be interesting...

I bet the Over on his last outing because I was "informed" that the high winds and ugly weather would mean more runs. Big mistake there - he only allowed one run.

The big dude is on fire and tends to do well in playoffs. Bet against him at your peril.

I get a kick out of this 3 day rest stuff. If he's your best use him as much as you can.

When the A's won back to back World Series in 29 & 30 Mack pitched
Earnshaw on 1 one days rest twice. Funny thing was he had the best lefthander of all time Bob Grove but Grove was bypassed & didn't even start a game in 29 although he lead the league in ERA & SO's.
