If you can't make an easy call when both runners are off the bag on 3rd.....how the heck do you call P:ohno:osada safe when he's standing on the 3rd base line off the bag...LOL....they need instant replay badly there's too much on the line for both teams for calls like that

MLB needs instant replay and challenges more then ever. These are suppose to be the best umpires. Two words: They Stink!

well, the first horrible call by mclelland cancelled out the horrible missed call by the 2nd base ump, but that last one....mclelland is just kind of standing around, soesn't even look like he's got his head in the game

I just dont want the fate of my team in the hands of an overweight, overtired, overmatched umpire thinking of the hooker he's going to bang and the twinkies he's going to eat after the game.:spanker:

Umpires used to be picked for post season play on merit.

Whenever you have Laz Diaz, Angel Hernandez, Tim Mclelland and CB Buckner you are asking for nothing but trouble. Just terrible umpires.

does seem like an abnormal amount of bad calls this postseason

seems like a set-up. yankees getting huge calls that seem so obvious (twins game).

mlb looking for outrage across the country when it's all over so they can push in replay while bad calls are still fresh in the fans' minds.

despite the terrible calls, can't really say it had much to do with the outcome, except maybe forcing a few more pitches, although i question having an ump behind the plate who is too big to adjust behind the catcher.

1) missed call at 2nd was made up for on the missed call at 3rd in the next at bat, so no harm done

2) the next missed call at 3rd, the next batter grounded out, so again no harm done.

but still, it's hard to see how the ump missed any of those calls, as none of them were really that close

has nothing to do with the outcome but everything to do with doing the best you can because the human element is involved. If your making 350,000+ as a senior umpire it 's inexcusable to make blatant bad calls no matter what side your cheering for and if it impacts the outcome of the game

some of the most blatantly bad calls I've ever seen have happened in this post season.

Mauer's hit fair by 18 inches called foul by an ump looking at it from 20 feet away

Swisher at 2nd base

the should be a double play at third

just plain awful
