Im sure to open up a BIG can of worms here but last night is a GOOD example of why they dont mean shit. New players, perssonel TIME IS NOW! What does something teams, players etc have done 3,5,10 years ago mean to the game at hand?!?! Show me some trends that lead to winners Id like to see them.

Just an example: (and there were many floatin around bout last nights game)
From another site:
Since 1999, teams using a starter on three days rest against a fully rested counterpart in the postseason are 7-27, including an 0-7 record since Roy Oswalt won Game 5 of the 2004 Division Series against a fully rested Jaret Wright for Atlanta.

The list of the pitchers who failed to deliver in recent years is impressive. It includes Bartolo Colon, Roger Clemens (twice), Freddy Garcia, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Curt Schilling, Tim Hudson, Mark Mulder, Barry Zito, Johan Santana, Lackey and Sabathia.

Sabathia, who the Phillies pounded in Game 2 of the Division Series last October, was the most recent victim of his manager's overconfidence. He gave up five runs in 32/3 innings of a game that would end 15-2, pushing the ERA of starters working on short rest in the playoffs to 5.70 in 40 games since 1999 (including three in which both starters were on short rest). The Brewers picked him for Game 2 ahead of Dave Bush and Jeff Suppan because they wanted Sabathia available for a possible Game 5, again on three days' rest.

By the way there is some $$$$ to be made in Tennis :):)
