Did this retard actually issue an intentional walk with a one run lead with 2 out and no one on base in the 9th inning?

Gay-Rod has a 40% OBP meaning a 60% chance of retiring him to win the game. Retard Mikey gave the tying run first base. Considering his penchant for the sac bunt ( totally discredited by Bill James) which reared its ugly head here too and this well beyond amazingly stupid intentional walk, he should be fired on the spot.

Amazing how owners know so little about sports they do not get it when they have a head coach who is just killing them with stupid moves, but has a good won loss record based on team talent

Owners don't know much about coaching a baseball team so they let the coach do the coaching regardless. Then, the team talent gets a good w/l record and the coach looks good.

Kind of like board of directors don't know how to run a company so they get someone they know regardless of his/her talent in running a company. Oftentimes the CEO runs the company into the ground and we can laugh at the board who loses their money. Oftentimes the CEO looks good because of the people working for him/her and he/she gets a huge bonus for being an idiot.

If I owned the team, I'd fire him immediately after the Angels are eliminated. If they win the world series I'd still fire him. Complete fucking idiot. Nothing new really there with him, but that may well have been the single most idiotic move in managerial history.

A-Rod is hot. 7/18 with 5 BB. I wouldnt let their best player beat me either.

Rather take my chances with ANYBODY else in that lineup.

Especially Matsui vs. Fuentes.

Scioscia did the right thing imo. A-Rod already took Game 1 from the Halos with his game tying HR in the 11th and he has been the second hottest player in the post-season behind Ryan Howard. I thought his mistake tonight was taking out Lackey when he did.

Scioscia is widely acknowledged as one of the better tacticians amongst baseball managers.

That said I do think walking A-Rod is a mistake, but the title of this post and suggestion he be fired is even more laughable.

seeing that he signed a 10 year extension a while back, i suspect
that he won't be fired soon.

Easy there Mr Smith don't be so harsh on a fellow gambler. Scioscia rolled the dice and won. Everything in life is a gamble. I hope you didn't lose too much on your Yankee bet.

You don't let ARod beat you or tie you. Period. And it's tough to pitch around him because he can jack a pitch that's out of the strike zone out of the ballpark.

The problem isn't ARod, its KRod (or lack thereof). Never should have let him get away.

there was nothing wrong with that decision. Arod was hot and Mike felt he had a favorable lefty-lefty matchup with Matsui.

I keep hearing that, yet somehow Fuentes had better numbers then Spaz Rod this year

Haha funny you casually throw in "second hottest hitter"... this has nothing to do with the thread, but felt I needed to comment... an obvious homer comment as Arod is easily the hottest hitter right now. He is doing things right now which when all is said and done, might be the greatest post season of all time.
