Does this 2nd Half Line make sense?

I got the Jets 2nd Half -.5 (-105)

The Jets outscored the Raiders 24 points in the first half. The bookies really don't expect the Jets to outscore the Raiders much in the second half?

I just think it's a little weird. I jumped on it with 30 dollars. At this point the Jets are up 7 points in 2nd Half scoring.

I know I'm coming off as a noob, but I usually just tail/fade other people and only cap MMA. This was an opportunity I couldn't resist though.

well jets game line was around -7, now with the 2h bet, you have them at -24.5 pts on the road. Thats alot of pts to cover, espically when the jets might pull some starters and the raiders could backdoor cover with their starters facing 2nd and 3rd stringers of the jets using a limited playbook

Are you telling me that the Jets have to outscore the Raiders by 25 points in the 2nd half? Fuck me.

I was thinking they only had to outscore the Raiders by 1 point. I even asked 5dimes Live Help if that was the case and they confirmed 1 point. I knew something was off.

Oh well. They might be able to do it. The Raiders really suck.

no im saying the game line now becomes like you took jets -24.5.

up 24 pts at half, your giving -.5, so you need the jets to win by 25 or more. the original game line was -7 or so, so your basically giving an extra 18 pts compared to the original line.

Alright. Thank goodness.

I don't know, the Jets outscored by 24 points in the first half. I've seen some research from a decent sports gambling website stating that usually the 1st half is statistically most likely to be like the 2nd half. So if a team has outscored the other team by 10 points, we could expect much of the same in the second half.

That's why I thought this line was too good to be true.

true, but the big lead can work against you, say its 31-0 entering the 4th qtr. the jets might start pulling a ton of starters to avoid key injuries. at that point the raiders would just need a touchdown vs jets back ups for you to lose your 2nd half bet.

at the same time, they jets could just continue to pull away like the patriots did vs the titans last week. thats why you got such a low line.

That's true. Thanks for the help. I needed some clarification. I should not have taken the bet not fully understanding how 2nd Halfs work, but I needed some action after not being able to bet on the games since I was at work.

no problem, those 2h lines can seem way to nice to be true. bengals were winning 31-3 at half and were +3 2h. not saying they cant cover that line, but if u see them up 28 at half and getting 3 pts in 2h, can look way to good to be true to a new bettor

Considering how bad the Raiders are, I'd take the Jets second stringers over them. So I'm fine with this particular line.

But I understand where you are coming from. It's not as great as I thought it was.
