They've beaten one ranked team all season.

Florida has beaten 1 as well but the team was ranked higher now (then when Penn State lost to Iowa) and is ranked higher currently.

Alabama has beaten 3 top-25 teams.

Iowa's "quality" wins...

2 point victory over Michigan State
1 point victory over Northern Iowa
3 point victory over Arkansas State
2 point victory over Michigan

They have barely beaten 4 average, below average, and FCS teams.

what about boise's quality wins? they beat oregon at home when orgeon was playing its first game under a VERY young HC.....what have they done since? beaten uc davis? barely escaped at a bad tulsa team, which if the QB had hit the wide open WR at the end that game could have had a FAR different outcome. looking at who boise has left and who iowa has left, if both teams go undefeated, there's no way boise should get the nod. so iowa beat michigan, which was blown out at home by PSU, which was beaten at home by iowa.......

boise needs to take a back seat and keep winning and keep their fingers crossed

Well blaming the Oregon game on a new coach doesn't make sense considering he was their offensive coordinator the last few years and their defensive coordinator from the last 11 years is also back. Not much has changed in the coaching area. It's not like the players were learning new schemes or anything.

But this isn't about Boise State. It's about the joke of the computer rankings putting Iowa at #1 when they have tons of ugly wins. Iowa deserves to be ranked just a tick ahead of Boise State but that's about it. Not at #1 in the computer rankings that figure into the BCS.

ugly wins are no longer factored into the computers. the computers just see wins. boise can beat sisters of mothers 60-0 every week, but the computers will just see boise beating sisters of mothers where teams like florida and alabama and iowa are beating the likes of michigan and tennessee and mississippi.....

boise has been a contender the last few years and have been in this spot before, why are they scheduling the likes of UC Davis? they can't afford those lapses in their schedule until their own conference schedule can pick up the slack

BAMA is part of FLORIDA's current win-streak.... Putting them above Fl would just be plain silly.

Well because it happened last season... the only thing that gets figured in as far as last season is week 1 rankings. After that, who cares? Different players... different teams... not important IMO.

Why did you not list AT Iowa State, Arizona, and AT Penn State in quality wins by Iowa.......not to mention AT WISCONSIN????

I've asked myself for days how in the world USC deserves to be in the top five and this does not get enough national attention.

They LOST to WASHINGTON!!!!!

WTF WTF WTF???

To this observer, a one point WIN over ANY team in the country is WAY, WAY better then a LOSS to WASHINGTON!!!!

THINK ABOUT THIS!!

If as a fan of one's favorite team, what would you rather have on your resume, a one point win against New Mexico State or a 3 point loss to Washington???

I was just joking about their lack of ability against lesser teams this season. I know they have real quality wins Fishy.

USC doesn't deserve to be up there at all. Boise blows out Hawaii. USC barely gets by Oregon State (Boise's Pac-10 whipping boy) and somehow USC goes way up and Boise goes way down. Plus USC has a loss. Who knows.
