jed hoyer is the new general manager of the padres...

&

the 35 year old follows recent trends in mlb of the youth movements in the front offices...

he was the assistant to epstein in boston...

moorad making a smart decision here... selecting hoyer over kim ng...

the red sox have done great things w/player development...

hoyer will bring that to san diego

agreed...

having a 40 million dollar payroll is alot different than a 150 million dollar one...

but the lowerie & ellsbury types will not bankrupt moorad once hoyer can develop 'em...

hoyer will make a significant trade bringing back alot of young...top prospects from boston in return

moorad is the lead partner & owns over 30%...

he has 12 other investors...including troy aikman...

moorad has 5 years to complete the buyout from moores

I knew him and Steingberg made some money, but this is crazy.

those agents make more than a decent living...

moorad paid 100 million...for his initial buy in

Seems like MLB has it's own politics.

Certain teams just feel more comfortable dealing with one another than some of the other teams.
