Kansas No. 1; Michigan State No. 2

Pollsters think Kansas can put distractions aside and dominate the college basketball world.
The Jayhawks topped the preseason ESPN/USA Today Top 25 coaches' poll, which was released Thursday.

"We will have a Bulls Eye" on our back," Kansas coach Bill Self said on ESPN's First Take. "It will make us tougher and harder and if it makes us tougher and harder throughout the season we'll be better in March."
Michigan State, which finished as the runner-up in the 2009 NCAA tournament, starts the 2009-10 campaign second in the poll.
After a 23-12 finish last season, Texas makes a big jump to the No. 3 spot, while national champion North Carolina Tar Heels starts out in the fourth position.
Kentucky didn't finish last season in the rankings, but John Calipari's arrival coincides with a No. 5 ranking.
Villanova, Purdue, Duke, West Virginia and Butler round out the top 10.
Kansas junior guard Brady Morningstar was suspended from first-semester games after he was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
The arrest was the latest embarrassment for the Jayhawks, as university police opened an investigation into September's brawl involving members of the school's football and men's basketball teams.
But Bill Self returns a strong nucleus from the team that was beaten in the regional semifinals of the NCAA tournament by Michigan State.
Center Cole Aldrich and point guard Sherron Collins provide stability at two key positions. Morningstar's void could be filled by highly recruited 6-foot-6 freshman Xavier Henry.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

West Virginia #9 at 20/1 to win the National Championship is a very nice price.
