I read in the papers today, that he thought with the Combination of Lee's Heavy Workload, and his unfamiliarity to pitching on Short days rest....He decited against it.

Of course. When I read on Friday that Blanton would start I said it was an automatic win for the Yankees.

Who cares if Lee only rested three days. This is the World Series for fuck's sake. A Lee with three days rest will always pitcher better than Blanton on Blanton's best day.

No sense in what he did. They gave Yankees the title with his dumb decisions. Not to mention trusting Brad Lidge in a situation like that. Lidge sucks and he's show it over and over but Manuel keeps trusting him.

No. Lee has never once in his career started on three days rest. I am sure if Lee would have went to Manuel and said hey listen im good I can go on three days Manuel would have considered it, but you don't want to fuck with someone who is 3-0 with a 0.54 ERA in the postseason.

So what if he never started, who cares? Like someone else said that proves nothing. Only Lee could take on Sabathia.

Well, the bottom line is they were 1 out away from having a shot to win, until Lidge gas canned it.

Unfortunately, I want Philly to win, but I don't see them winning 3 straight, but who thought BOS would win 4 in a row. Get a W tonight and then find a way to win game 6 and in Game 7, with everyone available, find a way to make it work.

Cliff Lee is not Sabathia. Sabathia is a horse who is used to throwing on three days rest. He did it the whole second half of the season last year and he has been doing it this postseason. Sabathia is one of few pitchers who can actually pull it off. Everyone is so sold on this because they look at CC and think that every pitcher in the big leagues is capable of throwing like he does on three days rest.

Well Lidge, as bad as he has been this year. Is still their Closer.

But Yes, lee should have started last night's game.
I think that way you have a better chance to tie the series, and worry about Game 5 later....

Now you need to win Tonight ( with Lee ) to be down 3 games to 2
But then You have to face Andy, AT HOME !!

I Won't Say it......But the Phillies arie in a Very Tough Spot !
and Manuel Put them There !

Manuel didn't put them there. The players have to do their job, and they have not been doing it in this series. Hamels was terrible in game three, Howard has been horrible the whole series, In last nights game Rollins and Victorino get on with no one out and they get no runs, Lidge doesn't cover third base in the 9th inning last night, Rollins should have been the one to cover the throw to second base and not Feliz.

I believe Brad Lidge pitched four scoreless innings this postseason going into last nights game. He recorded the first two outs and I give credit to Damon who battled.

I don't think its fair to blame this on Charlie.

WHY ?? I Blame Girardi when he makes those Bone head Pitching Changes.

Lee should have Pitched on 3 days Rest ! AJ is !! ( Tonight ) and Andy will as well.............
Both are Not like CC , but When the Season is on the line...You Do what you have to do.

blanton didn't pitch all that badly last night. Just one bad walk and a couple bloopers cost him a solid game.

AJ is pitching on three days rest because the Yankees don't have a legit 4th pitcher. Blanton is a solid number 4 and he proved that last night, and he has proven before that he is capable of pitching in a big game. I thought Blanton did a very good job.

You say you do what you have to do..... Do something that has never been done before? Do the unknown? Not with Lee. If Lee goes out in Game 4 and gets cracked then this series is definitely over in 5. Atleast if the bats stay cold tonight in Game 5, Lee should still keep them in the game and give them a chance to win. Everyone has their opinion, and I respect that, but Lee might not have pitched like Lee on three days rest.

whether he should have or not, blanton did well enough to give the phils a legit shot to win the game. that outing in a world series game from your #4 (if were still considering hamels anything right now), is all you could possibly ask for IMO.

if Lee wins tonights game (say he pitches another gem) and the phills dont win the WS...they dont deserve to...he beat their ace in game1 and if he wins tonight thats 2of4 wins you need he got them...if the rest of their staff cant win 2of5 games you dont deserve to be WS champs IMO

cole hamels is a shell of the pitcher he was last year in the postseason...the way Lee is throwing if he was even close to as good as last year this philly team would be b2b WS champs...

i was listening to Philadelphia sports radio and hamels was brought on. lost all respect i ever had for this pussy after the interview. he said he cannot wait for the season to end and that he'll pitch much better on 4 months rest than 5 days. what type of pitcher who was the MVP of the world series just a short year ago says he cannot wait for what could (longshot now) have been another world series title. he also said it seems like people are putting to much on his back and pressuring him. you were the ace of the staff 10 months ago aren't you supposed to be able to handle this stuff? fuck hamels.

yea after reading philly papers throughout the season, i could tell hamels wasn't handling the pressure very well and that deep inside, he felt the teams have him figured out. This offseason, it'll be very important for him to develop a third pitch or he'll become a bust.

Are you sure it wasn't Joe Conklin calling in as Cole Hamels? He has been doing that all weekend, and hes dead on with his imitations.
