Obviously this is not news to anyone, but its really starting to make me sick. Brandon Spikes rakes the eyes of an opposing player and the NCAA does not suspend him, and leaves it up to Florida to do what they like. Florida suspends him for the first half of their next game.

Dez Bryant goes out to lunch with Deion Sanders which is completely legal, but when he was asked about it he denied it and gets suspended for the season.

Its completely embarrassing.

Agreed. Spikes needs minimum of 3 games if not the remainder of the season. Dirty dirty play.

The funny thing is if this was a meaningful game for Florida he wouldn't of even been suspended for a half, but since its Vanderbilt....what the hell lets give him a half. Unreal.

Agree Spikes should get something from the SEC and/or NCAA.

To me, Florida suspending him for a half is the worst thing they could have done... They basically are saying "yep, he was wrong, but we just don't care". They should have either suspended him for at least 1 full game or "had his back" and said some standard cya crap like "it is an emotional game, he used poor judgment and retaliated against UGa players, but the matter is being handled internally"

I'm not an expert on the case, but Bryant wasn't suspended for his actions with Sanders. He was suspended for lying to the investigators when his involvement with Sanders was being looked into. Obviously, if he didn't do anything wrong and was suspended there would be a problem.

The NCAA doesn't go after teams when they win a title. Only the runner up programs, see Memphis '07, Michigan '91, '92. USC won't get in trouble for Reggie Bush because they don't the issue of having to have them relinquish the 2004 title.
