Well, at least I'm fairly sure now where LeBron James is going to be playing next season. Los Angeles, most likely with the Lakers. I've heard this scenario from some NBA people. I don't think James would have any problem submerging his ego for Bryant's for a while knowing full well his talent already is surpassing Bryant's. James has often talked about expanding his empire, and lately has been involved with books and movies. So where else but in L.A. would you want to be to be involved in the entertainment industry?

So, let's break into a few categories. First up, let's start with the stars whose contracts expire following the 2009-2010 season and will then become honest-to-goodness free agents:
Joe Johnson
Ray Allen
Manu Ginobili
Marcus Camby
Tracey McGrady
Shaquille O'Neal
Brad Miller
Stephen Jackson
Jermaine O'Neal
Mike Miller
Rip Hamilton
The next grouping is those players that are signed thru 2011, but can opt out in 2010 if they so choose:
Yao Ming (owed 17.7 million in 10/11)
Amare Stoudamire (owed 17.7 million in 10/11)
LeBron James (owed 17.2 million in 10/11)
Dwayne Wade (owed 17.0 million in 10/11)
Chris Bosh (owed 17.1 million in 10/11)
Dirk Nowitzki (owed $21.5 million in 10/11)
Josh Howard (owed $11.8 million in 10/11)
Mike Redd (owed $18.3 million in 10/11)
Tyson Chandler (owed $12.8 million in 10/11)
This next list consists of contracts that are set to expire in 2010, but the player may choose to opt-out following the 2008-2009 season:
Steve Nash (owed $13.1 million in 09-10)
Carlos Boozer (owed $12.7 million in 09-10)
Chris Paul (owed $6 million in 09-10 / almost certain to sign an extension before becoming unrestricted)
Memo Okur (owed $9.0 million in 09-10)
Hedo Turkoglu (owed $7.4 million in 09-10)

In addition to the superstars listed above, these 'second-tier' players are set to hit the open market as well:
Ben Wallace
Larry Hughes
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (option to opt-out after 09/10 season)
Anderson Varejao (option to opt-out after 09/10 season)
Al Harrington
Darko Milicic
Udonis Haslem
Jamal Crawford (option to opt-out after 09/10 season)
Eddy Curry (option to opt-out after 09/10 season)
Amir Johnson
Derek Fisher
Raja Bell
T.J. Ford (player option - owed $8.5 million in 10/11)
Travis Outlaw
Bruce Bowen
Earl Watson
Luke Ridnour
Matt Harpring
Quentin Richardson
Damien Wilkins

I wouldn't be surprised if he landed in LA, but on the Clippers along with Bosh. The Clippers will have cap space and room for both of them. Baron Davis, Blake Griffin, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh would be one hell of a lineup.

If I was Lebron I would start contacting some of these free agents without a title and do a 1 year deal(with money not being the motive) with a team with cap space and see if I couldn't get that title out of the way.

Imagine

Joe Johnson
Brad Miller
Lebron James
Chris Bosh or Amare
Dirk or Michael Redd

I definitely think there will be a splash with two big free agents landing on the same team.

Yep. And unlike that bullshit experiment with Malone and Payton with the Lakers these guys are still in their prime.

Neither one of their egos would allow them both on the same team.

If Lebron wants to win several rings, he should find a way to get to Orlando with big man Dwight Howard.

These 2 together could probably win at least 4-5 championships in a row.....

Don't see how in the world the Lakers could possibly afford LBJ with all the big contracts they have on that team already...Kobe, Bynum, Pau, Odom, etc. And I really doubt LeBron would accept a mid-level exception. I don't know who wrote this, but it's pure fantasy.

The Clippers make sense from a money standpoint, but would LBJ really want to join what has historically been one of the worst franchises in all of sports in his prime?

I think he'll end up re-signing in Cleveland. For some reason, a lot of people forget LeBron already re-signed once with the Cavs in 2006. If he wanted out of Cleveland that badly, he'd be gone already.

I say the Cavs have around a 25% shot of resigning LeBron after this season. Honestly I think its less then that but i'll say 25% just in case they say to LeBron that they will go out and sign one of the other big name free agents. If not he is gone.

If he makes it clear to the Cavs that he wants out, it will probably end up being some type of sign & trade deal so Cleveland still gets something in return.

How about Rashard Lewis and/or Vince Carter to Cleveland for LeBron to Orlando.

Howard & James wouldn't need much more help after that.

If I were an elite player, and had any amount of intelligence, I would be whispering & putting ideas like this in LeBron's head when I faced him on a game night...

I still maintain if Lebron doesn't stay in Cleveland he goes to NY.

Feel like Lebron going to LAL would cost LA any depth they've gained... You'd probably be looking at Bynum, Artest and Odom (if it were to happen this year) being involved.
