Before I start I just wanna congratulate everyone on an awesome season. I think this series ends tonight, so this will most likely be my last MLB play for 2009 and I have to say that this has been one of the better years I've had betting on baseball. I appreciate all the feedback you guys have given throughout the season. You guys are badass. So, without further ado, my play for tonight:
PHILLIES/YANKEES OVER 9.5 (EVEN)
The over is 3-2 in this series, and I'm sure as some of you know, I've bet on it all games but one. Well, I'm not going to stop now. I'm getting this play at even money at my book, and with these two offenses, I feel like this is great value. The bats have really come on strong in the past three games, two of which consisted of each team's respective ace. Granted, Yankee Stadium hasn't yielded as many runs in this series that I thought it would, but I chalk the first two games up to great pitching and a bit of offensive "anxiety", if you will. Both teams took a couple games to sniff each other out, and now they've seen pretty much everything from each other. Now they're playing up to their respective levels, especially with the bats. The Phillies play very well when in desperate situations, and tonight is another one of those. I expect them to hit Pettitte pretty hard tonight, chasing him in around the 5th or so. I was surprised at how effective Pedro was in Game 2, and I definitely don't think he can sustain that momentum into tonight's start. The Yankees are back on their home field, and they want to clinch this thing TONIGHT! I think they get it done, putting up about 7 or 8 runs to the Phillies 4 or 5 in the process. As much as I hate to say it, by the end of the night your new World Series Champions will be the New York Yankees. BOL everyone and congrats on a great season!
