He wants to win..PERIOD. I respect him for that. He is not the richest owner in the league and does whatever it takes because he WANTS to win...there are many owners in the league richer than Steinbrenner that could give a rats ass and only care about the almight dollar.

People forget he wanted to buy the Cleveland Indians before the Yankees.....It could be the Indians with all these titles instead. Don't hate on the Yankees because they have the best owner in professional sports.

....and this is coming from a Mets fan.

Don't you have one non-gambling related Yankee thread going already? You must really crave attention.

Sounds like someone hasn't been laid in awhile.

I apologize. I was wrong. I didn't realize you start all these threads because you haven't been laid in awhile. I thought it was because you craved attention.

I promise not to call you out on your inane duplicate threads ....... until the next one you start.

Maybe if you had taken a Finance or Economics class, you would realize that unless an owner in Cleveland was completely willing to lose money, he wouldn't be able to spend like the Yankees. You do know that the YES network pays $200M for the Yankees Broadcast rights.

Sports Time Ohio pays the Indians $25M a year. Where do you supposed George would make the other $175M?

Of course I do, I also know Sports time Ohio would pay the Indians more money if they were a winning franchise on a consistant basis. The YED network has not always been around...hint...hint.....George has used alot of his own finances to make the Yankees as dominant as they are...true it is a MUCH larger market BUT, if he owned the Indians they would be winner on a consistant basis and not a franchise that trades players like Cliff Lee, Sabathia....etc.

Can they charge $2500 a ticket in Cleveland for tickets?

Sorry, they don't Goldman, Lazard, Blackstone, paying for luxury boxes and tickets.

again....read what I said....Steinbrenner HAS USED ALOT of his own money for the Yankee franchise. I never said anything about ticket prices, TV contracts, etc.......compare the amount Steinbrenner has invested of his own money compared to the Indians owner and then come back to me.

He hasn't used a lot of his own money. The Yankees turn a profit every year.

No shit sherlock, but if you compare the amount of money George has spent compared to other owners and thier net worth, George does alot.

I guarantee if George would of bought the Indians they would be a consistant winner.

Why don't you compare how much money is spent to the amount of profit generated.

Don't they teach that to you in High School?

If the rumors of his Alzheimer's are true, Steinbrenner likely isn't even aware that the Yankees won the series. He likely hasn't been involved with the day to day operations of the team in years. If that's the case, how can he be the 'best owner'?

Sigh.....you are not getting my point and obviously won't. EXACTLY.....Yes COMPARE it ... compare the PERCENTAGE of money spent to the amount of profit generated...I guess they didn't teach you that. Look at that ratio compared to other owners in MLB before you start spouting off with ignorance.
